  1. No skiing for me I guess, but good luck Instinct with your business idea!

  2. Instinct the beatings comment is good for my current job. My boss needs a good beating. Get him down from his "high horse".

Oregon, Washington, Colorado would be good. Don't know about upstate New York. How about Vermont or is that too snooty of an area (never been there but have heard things)?

Also, Instinct we need a primal screaming room and a padded room too at the new company. Just in case the wack bonk sticks are not enough.

  3. Not Vermont. They are off the chart weird.

  4. Medical Laboratory Tech is the program I'm in. I did work in a pharmaceutical plant for the last 17 years in Manufacturing mostly.

  6. katiebugsmomma, what will you do when you graduate? Work for Genentech, Amgen, Pfizer or one of those companies?

Posted 2 years ago by SylvesterMiasMomma #

  7. Well, I had to pick something that I wouldn't have to lift any more than maybe a microscope............and I like science, and care about people's health so that's what I'm choosing.
I wish I was creative enough to be an animator! That sounds like fun!

  8. I am thinking I'll probably work in a hospital lab, or in a clinic.

Posted 2 years ago by katiebugsmomma #

  9. yeah the beatings comment is good for my last job as well. There's only one person in need of a beating today. I really like it here overall. And they are announcing something really cool today. Press release is at 4pm central time. I'll try to send a link. Probably shouldn't tell before that.

  12. where are you working MeezerMama?
and please forgive me for asking...........what's a meezer? Is it a meowzer?

Posted 2 years ago by katiebugsmomma #

  13. Katie, I will say this, the best advice my dad ever gave me is "Do what you love and the money will follow."

Too bad for me it took a while to figure out what I really love to do

Posted 2 years ago by Instinct #

  14. a meezer is a Siamese, KBM

Posted 2 years ago by Instinct #

  15. I only ask about the meezer word cause my cat makes a noise when she's sleeping like a meezer sound.

Posted 2 years ago by katiebugsmomma #

  16. Meezer is the familiar term for a Siamese. I have a pair of them.

Oh little place called Loves Travel Stops and Country Stores. I work in the corporate office

  17. don't hate me for working in the fuel industry. I don't get a discount either

Posted 2 years ago by MeezerMama in OK; 10/23 #

  18. Thankyou Instinct, good advice........and I understand about taking a while to find your place, It's hard going back to college at 41...........I didn't know what I wanted to do right out of highschool, went a few years to KSC and then went to work...........it's hard to go back to school.

Posted 2 years ago by katiebugsmomma #

  19. Thanks, I wasn't sure what a meezer was, that's cool........

Posted 2 years ago by katiebugsmomma #

  20. awe, ya know, we depend a lot on fuel, and a gal's gotta make a living and feed her little meezers :)

  21. I'm in the same boat, born in '66 myself :)

did the Navy for a while, got into fights, became a MP, broke up fights, got out, bounced from job to job, started going to school for computer programing with a minor in physics, saw "Toy Story" and that's when it hit me that I wanted to really do computer animation, dumped it all and ran off to art school.

Loves?? Think I've heard of them before somewhere.... Don't they make diapers?? :D

Posted 2 years ago by Instinct #

  22. Instinct, I have been a programmer for a while, do you need programmers in your company? If not, I can do just about any IT position :)

Posted 2 years ago by Boyzandme #

  23. Actually I would need programmers and IT. There's a lot to making a computer game that no one ever sees. Being in college and learning about it teaches you quite a bit :)

Posted 2 years ago by Instinct #

  24. Luv's make diapers, ha!

  25. I'm a number cruncher.
Worked at a comic book store, then waited tables, worked in banking for 7 years, and now I'm here.

Posted 2 years ago by MeezerMama in OK; 10/23 #

  26. MM I just applied for a number cruncher job, just today. I have some experience in that also. I actually had a really cool job once. I did accounting and programming both, it was a lot of fun actually, if your into that sort of thing.

  27. I started out scrubbing floors and taking out trash, then went into packaging, then I did imprinting on the little pills...........then to manufacturing where I learned to weigh up ingredients and make giant batches of medicines, then learned how to compress them into pills, then filmcoat..........my best talent I think would be running those million dollar tablet presses......I was a specialist at it for many years, but too much on the back, I'm not very big and I was moving things bigger than me for a long time..........somethings gotta give I guess

  28. Sorry I didn't open the Cyber Cafe today, but I have the day off. I even managed to get 1/3 of Tuesday off because I had a doctor's appt. So now I am home cleaning the fllors. I am supposed to have an apt. inspection today, but the owner has NOT called to set up an appointment, and I'm not going to bother him by calling. I assume he will stop by after his work, or call on the cell phone.

Well, I want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. I got a very nice call from my mom last night, Nothing has been mentioned about the email from either side. So right now, my stress level is a little below normal. I hope it stays that way tomorrow too...Love you guys (and girls) for all of your advice... I talk to you on Friday...

  29. Have a great holiday Cheri, try to relax and enjoy when you can.

  30. Well, I am a Senior Administrative Assistant or Executive Assistant or whatever admin title they want to use. It is a hard job and has taken me 20 years to finally be earning what I should be earning. Katiebugsmomma, I had thought about going back to school at the tender age of 41 and my husband had said he was all for it but not for helping me to go to school and not work (that is something he aspires to do in life - not work or work very little but still earn a lot of money). Trying to work at 40 hour or more a week job and go to school is not something I can do right now.
