Morning all, just popping for a sec before I head for the shower. Busy weekend, so now I have a bunch of stuff to catch up on, including the dreaded laundry.
Didn't hear from Mr. K yesterday; I'm hoping he's just away from e-mail. Trying not to fret. I'm ready for him to come home NOW!

Good morning MC, gargle with warm salty water to sort out any nasties in your throat. I'll have a large cappuccino please and a big floofy Maine Coon for cuddling. i'll need it as I sprayed the oven to clean it earlier and now I have to wipe it all down before bed. What was I thinking doing it this late at night?

Definitely gargle with warm salty water MC, it really helps and WWM says you can use whiskey too. There that put a smile on your face.
Kilroy, Mr K will probably working so hard he barely has time to think but he will get around to sending you an email.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

MS, do you HAVE to wipe it down tonight? Maybe it would decrust better overnight...
The last time I cleaned my oven, I used a tip someone gave me -- a paste of salt and warm water I think (or was it bicarbonate of soda?), left it on, heated it at a low temp, maybe. It worked pretty well and NO YUCKY FUMES. But it was so long ago, I can't remember exactly what I did, aaarrghhhhhh!
-
Yeah, i think i was having a senior moment when I decided to spray the oven. Means I'll have to leave here earlier than usual, darn it.
Jcat, yeah I do have to take it off but, ,, there's no nasty fumes with this one so bliss. Don't you hate it when you forget something like that. I would say it was bicarb that you used, it's such a fantastic cleaning ingredient.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Good Morning. I need a few toothpicks to prop open my eyes and a new body of a 20 year old please....
Abbie just wouldn't go to bed last night. She finally did just to have a restless night and I was up with her at 12:30...got her back to sleep then I was awake, so came downstairs, watched a bit of TV, went back to sleep on the couch then at 3am, I hear Wayne come downstairs and go into Maddie's room, she was awake and sitting by her door and was whiny and wanted to sleep on the couch..I didn't even hear her get up and I had the monitors on. I was awake the whole time he was in there and she got back to sleep after 3:30...I got up at 7 and Maddie got up 5 minutes later...crying and just whiny...She looks pitiful right now..she's on the couch with my pillows and a blanket watching her show. You can tell she's tired and I am wondering if she might be getting a cold or something.MC I am sorry you feel icky. Hopefully you will feel better soon.
MS..cleaning the oven at this time at night...silly woman.Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

I hate cleaning the over for that very reason. I will spray it, forget it and then go to use the oven and I find the cleaner still sprayed on the oven walls!

He's not working, MS, just traveling with a buddy who's son is doing anthropology fieldwork in Ecuador. If they've left Quito, Internet access may be scarce. I'll just be happy when I hear from him; they were planning on taking a train ride yesterday that involves riding on the *roof* of the train (did I mention my husband is nuts?).

Ohhhhhhhh CM, I wouldn't mind the body of a 20 year old either, I wonder what he would think though! !
Did that make you smile?
I'm so glad nights like that are way behind me, but with Meegz getting married maybe there will be some in front of me with grand kids a few years down the line.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Hi, GD, got a bad case of Mondayitis, I see!
Morning, CM, lol, wouldn't we all like our 20-year-old bodies back? Sorry to hear about your yucky night -- *passes toothpicks and a huge mug of coffee over* -- poor little Abbiefish and Maddie too...
It made me laugh out loud, MS!

..... Morning my friends!..... MC, so sorry your throat aches..... *chimes in* with everyone else about the salt water gargling..... also drink some hot orange juice - feels good, and infuses vitamin C (my grandma's remedy)....
.....LOL at MS spraying the oven last night!.....talk about "the dirtest jobs"!.... yuck, I hate oven cleaning.... stuffs rubber gloves and a gas mask thru the worm hole to NZ........ I always line the bottom of my oven with aluminum foil..... it does help to catch "spill overs", and is easy to change out........good luck with the midnight wiping!
-
You are supposed to clean the oven? I'm so not the domestic diva! Seriously, I have questions on how to do stuff so I'll be posting them one day soon. I, um, was a bit "spoiled" growing up.. but hey, I can admit it! Then my late fiance, he was spotless and did all the cleaning! Even made the bed the day he died (he hated an unmade bed!). Did I mention i'm 44? Is there hope for me?

Morning, AV, how are you today?
MS, nope, I think you're allowed to make your daughter get up in the middle of the night when it's her children that are restless, I gather that's the whole joy of grandchildren, lol. You only let them sleep over when they're old enough not to wake you up ;-)

Hi GD, CM, AV! Lainey there IS hope for you!
