  1. I'm out of here for the night, I trust that the next person will shut things down...goodnight all! *wipes down counters & fills the cat bowls & dims the lights*

  2. Another 8 plus hours of NS left but I promise we'll shut the office when we've done with it AL.

  3. Soxsmom, nope the doctor moved to Hawaii, believe it is to work in one of the military facilities but don't know for sure. He had his own practice so I really don't know where to go except maybe the state medical board and find out where he left his patients records or where I need to go next. He has been my only gyn doc for the last 10 years, sigh.

  4. I got up at 2:50 am because I couldn't sleep. the blood sugar is going down, i can feel it, but there is no danger.

so, since i couldn't sleep, i did 2 of my tuesday chores already - i scrubbed the floor of the newly painted bedroom, and i started a crockpot full of boneless skinless chicken for bbq.

and now i'm here. i'll be going back to bed soon, and hopefully will be sleeping in the bedroom tuesday night !!!

  5. Hi, Cheri, hopefully you're safely back in bed and asleep by now. Doing chores when you can't sleep is good I always find -- at least when you get up in the morning, you're a bit further ahead...

Hi, Deb, that's great that your mum's improving, have you heard how she is since she went into the rehab centre?

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  6. Evening jcat, yep talked to her for a few mins this afternoon. They were making sure she took the meds and doing her physical therapy so its looking up. Watched a very different show today called, Three Sheets....main premise is a guy travels around the world drinking at different bars....today it was New Zealand, he was traveling around drinking til drunk @ many bars.

  7. Hi, Deb, that's great news!

Well, that guy in the TV programme sounds like he should fit right into the bar/pub scene here then... Which cities did he go to? Didn't turn up at the Matterhorn in Welly, did he? If I had to go to a bar, that would be my favourite -- it's also a restaurant and they do the BEST food!

  8. Hi ladies, How original, travelling around and drinking at bars. I bet he gets paid for doing that too.
I'm pleased your Mum is at the rehab centre Deb and things are going well.

  9. Evening, MS, I hear your oven is clean and the ants are overcome so I hope all is well in your patch of the world.

It is blowing an absolute GALE here, it would be scary if I weren't from Wellington and used to galeforce winds...

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  10. It's pretty blustery off and on here tonight. It's not all that cold out but the wind certainly has made it feel darned cold. Shadz is asleep in Mr MS's chair under the blanket tent. Oven is sparkling but I see there is still the odd ant roaming around. Grrrrrrrr.

  11. He went to Queensland, and was doing flaming shots along a bar. He does get paid for traveling around and doing these shows for the FLN (Fine Living Network), what a life. But I kept wondering about them saying Queensland, not in NZ right? And supposedly he went to some point and jumped off the edge falling 300 ft, got rid of his hangover for sure.

Evening MS, are the winds blowing at your house too?

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  12. Ants are an annoying little critter, and a devil to get rid of. Had some winds today at my house but nothing like gale winds.

  13. Deb, did you get rain yesterday? You mentioned a storm and rain but I wasn't sure if you got any in the end.

  14. I hope he's taken out insurance against cirrhosis of the liver...

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  15. MS, yep for about 15 mins, hard rain but not enough to make a difference. The lightning and thunder went on for hours, the rain just petered out...woos rain!

jcat, my thoughts too, he was trying to drink himself to an illness waiting to happen.

  16. .... traveling around NZ drunk...... and getting PAID for it...... what crazy "reality" show will they think up next???.......!!!......

Morning all!..... Glad your Mom is doing better Deb!......Jcat, you DO know those gale force winds only blow to make your hair look better! (LOL).... and MS - guess what I'm cooking tonight? the CHICKEN BOOB receipe..... got some wonderful veggies - potatoe, turnip, carrots, zuccini, brussel sprouts, mushrooms and onion...... except, since I'm a dark meat addict, I'm making CHICKEN BUMS!... (leg & thigh parts).... LOL

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  17. ROTFL, chicken bums. I like it. Ohhhh sticky honey soy drumsticks take on a whole new meaning using your way AV. We had fragrant fish curry tonight and it was excellent. It was the first time I had tried this recipe and Mr MS liked it even though he's not that keen on curry. Sometimes he just has to eat what I serve up and what is good for me.

  18. ..... like I tell Hubbs.... "if you want something other than what I'm making - LEARN TO COOK"!!!...... that usually shuts him up, besides - my food is tasty, so he can "put up with it" without too much of a problem.... I say "waaaaah" (big baby)!....

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  19. I love curry, MS, I'll come round and eat Mr MS's share.

Lol @ AV, chicken bums indeed, you make it sound so appetising, tee hee. Actually those galeforce winds do their best to rip your hair right off your scalp, and it is officially impossible to wear wigs and toupees in Wellington at any time. There is a warning about it when you arrive at the airport... if your plane doesn't get blown into the sea that is...

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  20. As long as I say it with a smile then I can get away with it. Besides by the time he has done a 12 hour day he pretty much doesn't look at what he's eating, he just wants to get to the sleep part of the evening.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  21. .... actually, Jcat, our airport (TIA) is one that is almost bayside..... you typically come in over the water, so it almost looks like you're going to land in the water, until right before you touch down...... I always laugh when I'm on a plane and those silly TOURISTS are always screaming "wow, we're so close to the water, where's the runway"......needless panic.....

..... and there are signs in our airport that say "beware of land crabs"..... now that could be taken so many ways....... LOL

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  22. .... MS, I know what you mean... Hubbs barely looks at what he's eating after a hard day...... I've always thought it would be funny if someone made a bag of "man chow".... you know, like cat chow.... we could just pour them a bowl, and laugh while they inhale it..... LOL

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  23. Land crabs, eeeeeekkkkkkk! LOL @ AV, well, AV, you would feel right at home landing in Wellington then, but we don't have land crabs...

  24. The Cafe is open!

It's 11.59PM, NZ time, ...the night is very chilly in NZ and cool to d**n hot in USA ..... so time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes gratis AZDEBRA, LV , & Tigger from the beginning....good job everyone & bless you...

    check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Box

check - windows slightly open for Northern TDKers' spring and closed for Southern TDKers' autumn.

Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Airy and Jim-man. White light, healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Be careful out there! Bless all those whom have left before us, please watch over us >^..^<
