  1. Morning everyone. I am so happy that Hoover is safe and sound back in his home with Jadete! I hope he returns to being a sweet house loving kitty soon. I'll take some bacon and eggs. I am waiting on a call from the plumber that they have my water heater and we are ready to go! I talked to them at 8 and they were going to be heading to the plumbing supply house shortly. The shower isn't fixed, the drip is slower, but it is still a drip so they have to order that part now. Curse the builder of my house for using off brand fixtures!!!!!

CM, some bride will be grateful for that dress!

  2. Hurray! I knew your sweet Hoover would come home.

  3. CM he is definitely excited but was very nervous because of his finals today. I think I'm going to make a lasagna and a salad and some rolls and bake him some of his favorite oatmeal cookies and get him a bottle of his favorite wine to surprise him for a semester well done. It was a hard semester for him because he missed so many days when he was sick last month but I think he did very well

  5. Hi - just came by to sulk and cuddle with an agency kitten for a minute or two. Screwed something up and it affects the head honcho here; feel pretty crappy about that.
*sits in corner and gets attacked by at least 4 kittens sensing her nerves; makes Joan smile just a bit*

  7. Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to all! Living on the west coast here makes it difficult to make it to breakfast before everyone's had theirs & leaves. I could really use some food in the belly. It's growling this morning. I guess my favorite of all time...an avocado BLT...would be purrfect as a brekky or lunch. I fear frying bacon. It's as tho it gets a kick out of splattering me,so I don't cook them much (or matbe cuz bacon is so expensive anymore). lol.

Gotta take the BLT & a Mimosa to go tho. It's time to feed the fur crew here & I'm barely awake enuf to find the kitchen. Have a good day/night all!

    Welcome Home Hoover!

  8. Yea! Hoover is home with Jadette. I am so glad. Hope everyone is well, peaceful, and happy. If not, I hope you find happiness, peace, and well being.

  9. I second what Susie says..being on the west coast and missing some people. We have our distribution warehouse group coming in today. I have lunch being delivered so will have to go and get it at reception and then set it up in the conference room. Thankfully tomorrow they are going out to lunch.

MC, hope the NS calls you asap!! That must have been quite scary. CM, hope you and Maddie feel better.

My kitties were in strange moods last night. Mia was acting kind of like don't touch me and when I made the mistake of picking her up for some love, she leaped off of me pushing off of me hard enough to make it hurt. I kind of ignored them till I went to bed. I had dreams of staying at some place up in Alaska and dealing with some sort of native american event there. I think the news is impacting on my subconscious as I read an article on Sarah Palin in Vanity Fair that didn't put her in a very good light. I was so tired last night that I went to bed at 9:30pm and fell fast asleep. I woke up still feeling tired and will try to go to bed again tonight around 9:30pm.

One of my coworkers is hacking and coughing here at work and nicely sharing his cold germs with us. My nose is acting up a little bit so I think I am fighting what he has. So far just sneezing.

So in celebration of Hoovers capture/return..I will have some extra crispy bacon and a cheese omelet with a tumbler of mimosas, and a nice purring and cuddily kitten, please. Thank you.

  11. Have a little time to pop in and see how everyone is doing. MC, I hope you finally got the doctor to give you a call. Let us know what's going on.
To the West Coast people joining us, it is hard to get everyone together when we are coming and leaving at different times. I feel lucky when I'm able to get on the site long enough to read the latest. Today has been slow at work, so I can keep up a little more.

  12. Its been quite the day today. I talked to the neurosurgeon today and they had to rush to the ER and never got to call me back. They said they are just surgeons and they don't really follow long term. They want me to call my normal neurologist to follow up on my problem with my vision. I called their office and they are "out of the office". I called back to the surgeon and he said if it happens again I need to go straight to the ER. Plus FF stood me up for tonite!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  13. Oh MC.... sorry to hear about FF ! Hopefully he had a good reason?
I hope you don't have the vision problem again. I agree, though, that it sounds like a migraine aura. I get the aura all the time... drives me nuts !

  14. We were going to meet for lunch and then I had to work later than expected. He got grumpy with me and started painting his garage. I called then and said I was off work and he said he was in the middle of painting and he wasn't going to stop. :(

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  15. Cripes, MC....typical drs! And I bet FF has a good excuse, I doubt he would just leave you in the lurch! But you do have a cold/flu, right? Maybe he thinks you should rest! (((MC)))

Posted 2 years ago by katthays #

  16. OHHHHHH, well you should have gone over and helped him paint :) We all have grumpy days, maybe that is all it is!

  17. Hey everyone. I am back. I don't know how I managed to get this to work out, but I got the appliance guy to come while the plumbers were there! My oven is fixed for now, but it is definitely limping along on its last legs. When it dies again, I will start looking for a sale. since I do have a toaster oven and there are just two of us, I can wait until a really good sale and some other bills are paid off. Water heater is installed and hopefully heating away as I type. There will still be one more visit whenever the part for the shower comes in.

It's past lunchtime so how about Tea? I'll take a couple of finger sandwiches, scones, grapes, mini cupcakes and some lovely afternoon tea.

  18. Oh MC, I don't like the sound of any of that, the docs *or* FF. He has no business being grumpy at you like that.

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  19. MC - have you considered making or buying some easy and portable and just taking it to FF? He won't have time to cook if he's busy painting, and being grumpy. :)

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  20. ..... I have to agree with Kilroy.... the doctors are a bunch of terds!....

... and FF has no right to be grumpy with you.... probably just having a bad day, I bet it doesn't have anything to do with you!.... MEN are such babies sometimes (ok, manytimes!).....

.... I'm laughing as I'm putting my pot of "chicken bums" in the oven..... I made so much, I could feed the entire MacDill AFB! LOL...... I tried to buy just a small amount of vegetables, but I can't stand to pay TOP dollar for just one lone thing, like 1 zucunni, or 1 carrot - the singles cost almost as much as a bag!....... oh well, I hope HUBBs likes it, cause he'll be eating it FOR A WEEK! ...... *sighs*

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  21. I understand your frustration AV... being single, cooking and shopping for one is a true challenge !

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  22. ....yes 2P, it is!.... I'm a newbie "empty nester", so I haven't quite "gotten the hang of it yet"!.... normally, with two teenagers, that pot would be devoured..... now, Hubbs will be eating it til it comes out of his ears, poor guy!

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  23. I really love lasagne and chicken enchiladas and split pea soup... I end up eating those for DAYS when I do make them. I prefer to not freeze them... not sure why, but I don't.

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  24. ... oh I totally agree with you.... I never freeze anything, it's just never the same!.....

... so far, my solution to these "over cooking" incidents has been to become "meals on wheels"..... I take some to my Mother and MIL..... they've eaten well lately.....

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  25. I do pass some along to #1 son. He's always grateful. Well, except for the last batch of chili. It was pretty bad.... lol No Mom, no MIL, Dad's too far away, #2 son in CA. It's all me... I used to feed man-friend, but it got to feeling very one-sided ... so I don't do that too much any more.

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  26. ...yep, we're "old school".... can't stand to see anything go to waste!..... well, the good news is, I won't have to cook again before we leave town - we're going to NC on Sunday for a week..... I made an HUGE pan of ziti last night, and with the ginormous pot of "chicken bums" I made just now, it'll last until we leave!....

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  27. Sing along. "I like chicken bums and I can not lie, you other sistas can't deny. With a chicken in the pot, such a great big taste, you want some in your face!" Peace out!

  28. Today my job is driving me nuts. A coworker was suppose to work with me on organizing a visit from one of our vendors but the guy cannot seem to think beyond his own work so I ended up doing everything. If you ask him a question, he asks you one back or just says I don't know. He cannot seem to use his brain to problem solve or think how to get things done. He waits for others to do for him. The manager puts up with him because he has been here 11 years and seems to get the work done even if it is in a round about way and she treats him like he is her son.

It is no use with trying to sit down and let this coworker know how frustrated this whole thing has been for me as it will be like talking to a wall and it will only go in one ear and out the other.

I need a padded and sound proofed primal screaming room!!! Arrrrgggghhhhh!!!

Posted 2 years ago by SylMiaFelixsMomma #

  29. .... ROFLMAO @ KK!.... *envisions* the dance that goes with that song! LOL.... I hope MS reads this, she'll crack up!.....

.....SMM, so sorry for your frustration!.... I've worked with many like that, and it drives me up a wall!....can you delegate anything to him, if you tell him exactly what to do?

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  30. Kykat, you are hilarious.

I found this for you all that like chicken bums...

    http://www.thefoodpornographer.com/?p=1118

Thanks AV. Delegating to this guy would be a disaster. I would actually have to hold his hand and explain it as we did it. He is that lazy.
