I noticed that no one had opened the cafe this morning. We all must have been in the mood to sleep in! On the buffet are a selection of fresh squeezed juices, fresh fruit, sliced toatoes, eggs of every kind, bacon (both crispy and limp) bready comestibles, yogurt, coffee and tea! Agency kitties are all groomed and ready for cuddles and playtime!

Hi KYK, CM & KH! I've been crankin' here at work. How about a kitten-cuddle and some crispy bacon?
Hope you all have a great day!Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Sio, I too am fighting back the tears after reading that thread. There is a tabby and a calico waiting for a cuddle from you.
Cheri, a sleek black panther looking cat is bringing you a big plate of bacon, strawberries and a criossant and will wait politely until you are finished for a cuddle!
Morning Joan, Jean Katt and CM, Load your plates!
Katt sorry about the septic. Sometimes it sucks being a home owner. I am dreading the plumbers bill that is on its way. Between stuff breaking in the house and some medical bills it is getting a bit tight to say the least.

I'm thinking the movie "The Money Pit" is more accurate than many realized. (lol)
I sometimes call our 100-year old home the "Buck-Sucker" because when something goes wrong, it's -always- at the most inconvenient time and -always- costs more than you thought it would.
Case in point...we had a house full of guests one 4th of July and that's the time the sewer decided to back up. We have ONE bathroom. Roto-Rooter was called, they were pretty prompt, but it was an "overtime/holiday" call. Ouchiewawa to the pocketbook!

Siobhan, I remember the Money Pit movie! It was a hoot! My son is buying a house that is around 100 years old! Yikes! The sewer people haven't gotten back to us yet on the cost of replacing some pipe, or unclogging it. I guess eventually, all houses are "Buck-Suckers" LOL!

Hi all! I am feeling yucky again today. At least I have an appt with the neurologist in a bit. Maybe I will find out why I lost vision in my right eye the other day (or not!).

Good luck MC.
Someone pass me a large glass of dry white wine please. I have finally decided not to go into work any more this holiday - at least not until the end of August.

Our house was built in 1860. So far it's been mostly OK although a couple of years ago a neighbout knocked on the door and said "Do you realise you have a sewerage fountain coming from your inspection plate?" I went outside and he was right. It was shooting up about a foot into the air!!! I phoned the local authority, and because the blocked pipe was in the road, not on my property, it didn't cost anything. They came out quite quickly and they cleaned and disinfected the whole area really thoroughly. It wasn't an experience I can exactly recommend, but at least it was sorted out efficiently.

Hello eveybody. My house is just over 100 years old, and once I'd got the maintenance up to date (it had been a rented house for a while), it's not too bad. Need to do a bit of re-pointing on one outside wall in the next 12 months or so, and have a damp problem in the dining room to sort out (it's nicely hidden behind a door!), but apart from that...(touches wood!)

I love old houses, they are idiosyncratic but never bland. Modern UK houses may be easier to heat etc but unless you can spare a million or so they are just boxes with little or no personality.

PM, I'll have a chilled glass of pino griso please!......
... just got a frantic call from daughter (shes at UCF).... she was crying, saying her chest hurt so bad, she could hardly breathe!.... she's been sick last week, and UCF is where there were 10 cases of the swine flu reported!.....
....now, to bring a pinch of common sense to this, it comes from a child that is "overly" paranoid.... she watches a medical show on TV, and is convinced she has some obscure disease (she's the ultimate "self-diagnoser")..... anyway, my heart aches when my "baby" is in pain, so I called our doctor, and she is going to squeeze her in and see her tomorrow morning..... so, she's on her way home!......truly, I think she might have gotten a slight lung infection from being sick.... you cough so much with a cold and such, it sometimes causes your lungs to ache..... but better to be safe than sorry, so to the doctor we go.....
.... ok, that was so long, I'm finished with my wine!.... refill please *grins*

I'd love a glass of something!!
I'm so glad Thursdy is almost over!! I made about 30 phone calls from work today and still didn't set one single appointment. I haven't gotten one all week and it's bothering me. I think we'll be done after next week with the calls for this show and it's coming down to the wire trying to get appointments and get companies to sign on. At least the others seem like they're really slow this week, too, so it's not just me.
I'm going to research some companies from the gym tonight so I have a list ready to call in the morning. The more I call, the better the chance of getting appointments!I never made it to the mechanic today with my car. When I came home it was pouring and since I was going to drop it off and walk the 5 minutes home, that didn't work out.
I'm supposed to go straight from one job to the other tomorrow, so unless I'm late for the gym, I won't be able to drop it then, either. And then it's the weekend. Arrrrgh! -
Large glasses of chilled white wine heading out to whomsoever needs one.
