Saw the neuro today about losing vision in my right eye. We have two options, neither of which are good. I could be having mini-strokes (TIA's) or have an aneursym (which killed my dad). I have to be poked and prodded from head to toe. I just don't know how much more of this I can take. I am tired, I don't want to see anymore doctors or hospitals. I am tired of having drawn the genetic short straw in the family. I am tired of feeling like poop. If you can muster just a little prayer for me I would appreciate it.

Oh, Mollycat, after all you have been through, you didn't need this. What kind of tests can you have? I remember that an MRI wasn't an option because of the metal you have in there.
Are you sure those are the only options? My hubby has been losing peripheral vision for some time now and the eye doctor was completely baffled. He finally mentioned it in passing to the endocrinologist he sees for his diabetes and that doctor told him a benign growth on his pituitary could be the culprit. The endocrinologist was right.
Can you ask your neuro to present your case to a diagnostic board? Many major hospitals have boards like that, especially teaching hospitals. If you get several different specialties together some one may have more answers.
I'm sorry you feel like poop - although you know how much we like poop on this forum - so you know how much we like you.
TDK got you through the initial surgery, we'll do everything we can to get you though this quickly and as painlessly as possible.

If they feel that you have either a TIA or an aneurysm and they are not hospitalizing you there is a serious problem. When have they scheduled the next CAT scan? How was your blood pressure? Have they done a cardiac work up? I seriously hope you told the neurosurgeon that you need a complete work up. This is not the time to wait around and see what happens.
Prayers that you will receive the proper care and can be healed. Prayers of strength and peace MC.

I have to have a CAT scan, ultrasound of my arteries, heart tests, blood work. I have to see an Opthamologist, Cardiologist, and every other ologist!

(((Amy))) To say this sucks is an understatement ! However, I'd not wait on the tests. I'm guessing your insurance company has to give their seal of approval.... geez... but then don't dawdle. Find out as soon as you can what is happening. Major healing energies coming your way.

Actually no, my insurance hasn't said ok. They have to take it to their medical panel to approve since I have had a major claim as of late. I am only in my 30s, why am I falling apart?????

MC, I don't have any sanity left to share. :-) But I do have prayers for you in abundance. I know you are sooooooo weary of the pain, and problems, and medical procedures, bless your heart. But you can do this. You've come so far and you have what it takes to endure until the docs can get you in truly healthy shape. In the meantime, it's okay to throw a hissy fit as long as you don't let it make you worse.

Oh sweetie... you are having an understandable low point here. Wish I could give you a real hug instead of a virtual one. I surely hope the Ins people push this quickly. You are an incredibly strong woman.... you'll get through this, and we'll help as much as we can. *sends MC as much sanity as she has with the understanding that that isn't very much !*

Oh Amy....you've gotten through a major surgery and I know whatever this is we can get you through it too. Please don't lose heart. I don't know why you ended up with the short straw but we are here for you all the way through this and Praying for a reasonable, easy explanation and treatment. Argh!!!!!! ((((Amy))))

Keep pushing at your insurance and make sure your doctor keeps pushing as well. You should probably be making at least one call a day to the insurance company and another to the doctor's office.
Don't think of it as falling apart - that will make you feel even worse. Think of it as a major tune-up with all the needed repairs being found and made so that you can live the second half of your life in good health.
Please don't let yourself get depressed (any more than you are). You have lots of support here and any one of us would be happy to take your phone call, regardless of the time, to help give you a mental boost.

Oh, Amy - I am at a loss for words. I truly was praying that the episode with your eye was just some once in a blue moon thing.
Okay, knowledge is better than the unknown. I am assuming that they plan to admit you for testing. If they don't my question would be, "Why not?" These tests need to definitely be done sooner rather than later.
The staff at your doctor's office should be the ones running interference with your insurance, not you. That is their job. I have managed a general surgery practice and will speak here with some authority. That is their job. Your job is to make certain that they do the interaction with your insurance company as soon as possible.
Amy, take heart, be brave and hope that this is only a MINOR setback. You have come so far. You can get through these tests. Believe.

I don't know what to say, MC. You have many friends who are here that can help you with your technicalogical problems and how drs work. WWM being one of the best.
I can only offer prayers for your healing, white light for your pain, and my love to know that I am thinking of you and wishing you the best.
You can get though this, I am sure of it. You are a formidable woman and let nothing get in the way of your recovery, whatever it may be. I am pulling for you and we all have your back, never worry about that. You need, we will help, you want, you just ask.
Thinking of you and praying, with much love, Mama Lynn
