Hi we are new.... Comented on the chat for one kitten or two and kitten whisper welcomed me and said to post pics of my kittens if i had time. I would love to just dont know how also said to change my thread?? what is that :) also saw something about setting up a page for my kittens or something like that

You can add a photo of your kittens as an avatar here on the Daily Kitten. Go to your profile, click on edit and then click on add or change gravatar. That link takes you to a gravatar website that gives you step by step directions for uploading a photo to be used as your avatar here. You can also create a webpage by going to www.catster.com and follow the directions there for uploading photos of your kittens to that website. You can then edit your profile on TDK so that your Catster webpage address becomes part of your TDK profile.
It may still sound pretty confusing, but keep asking questions and we will help you through the process.

OH maybe I should tell you guys about our new additions to our family:)
We live in northern ca (Ferndale) which is a very small town lots dairies and the home of Humoldt Creamery... We live on my husbands family's dairy.
Finally it was the right time to get a kitten..... or two. I have two boys three and eight and they are alwys arguing over things so i knew if we only got one kitten there was going to be trouble. When we went to the shelter i mentioned that we were interested in two kittens and they recomended two brothers that were best buddies. They said that whenever they took one out of the cage the other would cry till he came back. That was it for me, i couldnt imagine if we didnt adopt them and then they were seaperated! How Sad! The day we got home with them they were all over our house exploring but if they lost track of eachother for to long they would meow till they found eachother. so sweet! They are best friends for sure and my boys are so happy! Riley, my eight year old told me that "these kitten were sent from heaven above" he has been begging for a kitten for years and is just beside himself that he finally has his own. I am very happy to say that the kittens made themselfs right at home and are very happy and wild:)Posted 2 years ago by brookie707 #

Hellllllooooooooo, & Welcome to TDK, Brookie! Spirit and Jumper are adorable, and I love their names! I have two kitties, MacKenzie and Grommet; you can see their catster pages by clicking on my avatar (pic of Mac as a kitten). You're doing just fine figuring out how to navigate around here. During the day there is general chat in the Cafe, and at night, the general chat usually moves to the night shift thread. Feel free to join in anytime, everyone is very friendly.

Welcome to TDK. I'm so glad you got both kittens - when they are really bonded like that, keeping them together is the best way to go.
BTW, I think Ferndale is one of the prettiest towns in Northern CA. One of the best vacations we ever took when our kids were little was a trip up the coast. We stayed in Ferndale one night and hiked Fern Canyon the next day. That was 25 years ago and our girls still talk about it.

thanks for welcoming me! like i said on the other thread i started "is this weird or unhealthy" we have had the kittens for 1 week and 2 day and i came on this site more than a few time just to read the threads to get tips on kitty litter and keeping ants away from the food etc that is why i joined ; because everyone is so helpful! thanks again:)

BTW I grew up in Fortuna Ca which is 5min away from ferndale When I was in high school "i crossed the bridge" and met my future husband who has lived here in ferndale his whole life. I to love it here and I like how main street is all "victorian" did u know the movie Outbreak with dustin hoffman was filmed in Ferndale? Also A movie w?/ jim carrey called the majestic

when you visited humboldt county i was just 3 yrs old and had my first kitten for only a yr..... I had her until i was 16 until she had kidney failure and we had to put her tosleep:( I think she thought i was her kitten or something because when ever i would cry she would come flying into the room with wild eyes jump on me and nussel me and purrrr until i wasnhappy again. she was so sweet

hello again i have visited lots of your guys catster pages so sweet i will be trying to start mine as soon as my camera is done charging:) Does anyone have a problem with their cats spraying? that was the only thing that i was nervous about that when these boys get bigger they will start to spray my fruniture or something. they told me at the shelter that because they were so close that i shouldnt have a problem but what if i want to get another kitten in a few yrs or something

One of the best ways to prevent spraying (and a gazillion other problems) is to get them neutered. They spray to mark their territory, so it'll help with that and any future aggression issues.

Hey, Brookie, just now catching up and meeting you. I'm on Catster, too, though I seldom have time to check out my page these days. I have four fuzzies: Chris (the grumpy old man), Rattlesnake (aka Snake, who is the sweetest rattlesnake you'll ever meet!), Spook and Topaz (aka Spaz or Trouble -- she's the youngest and still acts like a kitten).
Anyway, just wanted to say I love the story of how you ended up with Spirit and Jumper. And your sons sound precious, too.
