Nah, it's not bad, and he's not sick. One of us (and I'm ashamed to admit I can't remember who) has a full grown cat who likes to suck on her blanket.

Cheetahboy is 8 years old and still has a blankie. It has to be on the bed every night and he kneads it, drools on it and finally goes to sleep on it. When he was little, if I had to discipline him, he would pull the blankie off the bed and take it under the dining room table with him.

it's Bob who has the blanket. Its a normal behaviour. I have a kitten right now that is suckling on a chihuaua that he was dumped with. THey are both very attached to now...

My first kitty, Whiskers was only six weeks when I got her. I had a box that I put one of my old wool sweaters in and found her to put a piece of it in her mouth while she kneaded and sucked on the sweater purring away. When I first caught her doing it, she stopped. Later on, I learned she didn't want to be watched when she did it.

GD's Bobby is our blankie kitty.... and it'e purfectly normal, cats can get attached to certain stuffed toys, pillows, or blankies..... my Abby is very attached to a little stuffed white (now grey) kitty..... it's been with her since we adopted her, and she loves it!.....carries it around the house in her mouth, up and down the stairs, trilling all the while..... and it doesn't even have catnip in it!.... LOL

oh i was wondering the same thing! i have a 3 1/2 mth of kitty (Kaieteur in the avatar) and he still loves to dry nurse on this one robe that i have. he will frantically rush to me if i wear it and it ends up covered in drool while he tries to find the perfect place to "nurse" on it. i really thought this was a bad thing, so i am now reassured. thanks!

oh good i didnt want to stop him becuase like Blackbeard his purr is super loud when he is sucking/ nursing whatever it is that he is doing..... Blackbeard looks just like our two kittens! I dont know when he got weaned oh his history sheet it said that he came to the shelter with his mom and two other brothers.... one was adopted right away and then i adopted these two. Whatever the reason i will not bother him about it:) the pillow is like five times his size ( jumper is 3mo & 1 week today) we have had the kittens for 1 week and 2 days LOVING IT!!!
BTW thanksnfor all the great advice over this week i came to this web site and read lots of these blogs this week. found lots of good tips that is why i joined:)Posted 2 years ago by brookie707 #

My Moe cat was 8 years old, and as soon as he was near a nubbly fuzzy blanket he would suck on it, kneeding and purring. I guess it was left over from his kitten days. It's not that weird even humans are like that, my partner who is 32 still has her "blanky" a blanket on our bed that she is very attached to and will fondle if shes really feeling down(she'd kill me if she knew I told you..heheh)

My Sgt. Tibbs sucks on my earlobe, while purring and making biscuits on my face. When he was a kitten he would fall asleep with my earlobe in his mouth - I'd actually hear a little "pop" when I'd pull my earlobe out of his mouth. He's still doing it a year later. He only does it to me, not my husband. My husband thinks its hilarious.
