New to the board, and new to kittens; I took in 2 abandoned kittens, we think they are about 5 weeks old. They are playing/eating/wetting/. Oliver is very quiet and relaxed, Dodger is very feisty into everything. My worry is their roles have reversed and Dodger has cough/sneeze just once, but I wouldn't be so concerned, but he is not as active as he has been. He is still eating/wetting. Just quiet and relaxed now. Should I be worried

Thanks! We have had the kittens for 2 days, and we called the vet when we got them to make sure we were doing what we needed to do. They will see him in about a week or two. I maybe just jumping the gun, he has only started acting like that today. And he has only cough/sneeze one time. Like I said, I'm new to the kitten world and just want to make sure I'm doing what I can for him. If he continues acting like this I will be calling the vet.

It's wonderful that you are so concerned. I would keep a eye on him and if he doesn't show any other signs of illness you should be fine. If you are not sure, it won't hurt to take them to the vet early. Do you have any pictures??

Hi, McEndree! Welcome to TDK. Bless you for taking in these two little orphans. There is nothing quite as entertaining as kittens playing together. :)
I wouldn't be concerned about one sneeze, but do keep a close eye on your kits. Kittens can get upper respiratory infections. If that is what is happening they both should see the vet as they are contagious.
What are you feeding these babies? Have you named them yet? We'd love to see pictures! Please click on my avatar to see photos of my three kits, Digit, Furl and Boots. :)

Thanks so much for the info. They have been very entertaining to watch. Like I said, I knew I was probably jumping the gun but I just wanted to be sure since they were abandoned.
These are the only pics I have of them right now. I will post some new ones later. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed. This is an awesome site!Posted 3 months ago by mcendree1990 #

Welcome!! OMG, beautiful, adorable orangies. Bless you for taking them in.
Agree with all the above commenst. God willing it is absolutely nothing, but kittens can get very sick very quickly, so you are right to be vigilent. One worry I always have about kittens is the issue of worms/parasites as they can become violently ill in a short time. I'm not sure on this, but if the vet is not going to see them for a week or 2 may not hurt to give them a call and see if taking in a stool sample on both babies may be of any help to insure that there is nothing to worry about for the next 2 weeks.Posted 3 months ago by Tigerlilly #
