I noticed yesterday that Sophie has a pink patch on her skin just on the inside of her ear. It looks like there are three tiny darker pink dots on the inside of the pink spot. She's not scratching it or anything, but I don't know what it is, and it worries me.

I tried, but I couldn't get it to show up. It just kept showing up blurry. It's just a little pink spot on the white skin there with some slightly darker pink dots. It's about a centimeter and a half diameter.

Do you think it's always been there and you just noticed it?
Does she lie in the sun with the inside of her ear exposed? Black cats aren't as susceptible to sunburn as white ones are, but it does happen.
Is it scaly or oozing? Could it have been bitten by her big brother?
It could help the vet (if it comes to that) if you could measure the patch now then monitor it to see if in increases. If it does get bigger, I would take her in.

I would have noticed it before, I'm pretty sure. She does lay in the sun sometimes, but never directly as far as I know. It's not oozing, and it doesn't appear scaly. I'll keep monitoring it certainly. Thanks so much!
