I'm so excited, its' been a long time since I've opened a Night shift!..... hope everyone is doing well.... prayers and white lights to those that need them, coodoos to all that had good things today!.... and of course, "brownie points" to those that had a good and healthy day!.....
..... I played 9 holes with my friends today, then had dinner together, and am now home to "chill".... it's raining in the mountains, but the view are still AMAZING!.... will definitely post pics soon!......

Hi AV, I think I'll have a martini; had a loooong day today. Drove down to the Alamo and the Riverwalk to make sure I know how to navigate around the area so KW and I can do a little sightseeing when she's here for the TDK meetup in Sept. It was just plain HOT outside, but, despite the heat the area was just quite busy with visitors/tourists ~ good for the San Antonio economy, I'm sure.

I'm not so good with heat, KM, but should be fine with lots of sunscreen and lots of water if it is hot when I visit in Sept. lol

Sounds like it, AV! I heard on the news today that this has been the coolest summer in Chicago since 1942, when they moved the weather recording station away from Lake Michigan; I remember not too many years ago it was so hot there one summer, people were dying from the heat right in their apartments.

Kurt attends Fullsail University where is he studying in the Game Development Program. He's going to be designing video/computer games. It's a really incredible school, one of the best in the country for what he wants to do, but insanely expensive. Luckily his parents are paying for it so he doesn't have loans...and the placement rate is over 90% once he graduates. But he's going to stay for the Master's program which is another year after this one, but he's going to have to take out a big loan for that as he doesn't want to put that extra schooling on his parents. The only thing that sucks is that he goes to class 8 hours a day, 5 days a week plus all the time he's gone working on projects and school works at school and with groups so I don't get to see him as much as I'd like.
Right now I'm taking a break from school myself while I wait to get my Florida residency reinstated, looking for a job but hard pressed to find one, meh. I haven't declared a major yet...just started doing my core classes. I plan on either majoring in english with a minor in creative writing or perhaps majoring in journalism. I've considered entering the field of veterinary medicine with some sort of minor in animal behaviorism but I'm not sure I can handle seeing animals suffer all of the time.

We used to have a regular poster here who was going to school in San Francisco to get a Master's in some sort of game development. His screen name is Instinct. He sometimes shared projects he was working on. The graphics programs sound incredibly complex. I think he must have graduated by now.
You might want to see if you could do a job shadow at a vet's office to see if you could handle the work that goes on. One wonderful thing about being a vet (I would think) is being able to relieve suffering. Do you ever watch vet programs on the Animal Planet TV channel? It is very interesting. Lots of very caring people and challenges to deal with.

Aw thanks Cheri. I know, Eggnog is quite the handsome boy. Naughty most of the time, but still gorgeous. He's the most amazing animal, even when he's being bad I forgive him, for I would probably be dead today if it wasn't for him..Especially when my mother passed away a couple years ago, he was the only thing that kept me going, kept me eating. He slept with me every night, let me wrap my arms around him. He would lie still when I'd cry into his fur, even if he got all wet. He's quite the cat. I really consider him my child, more human than he could ever be animal.
Yeah, it's a very tough program. I can't make head nor tail of half the stuff he does, it's basically continuous, complex math problems that are just outrageous. But if he enjoys it then I'm here to support him, ha.
I should research that, thanks KW. That's quite the suggestion. I am actually a devoted Animal Planet fanatic, have been ever since I was little. I watch all the Animal Police shows and Emergency Vets and everything. It's horrible the things people do to animals. Sometimes its hard to watch. But I do think that I would find such satisfaction and comfort in knowing that I could help them...to do anything to save just one animal's life, or to show it maybe the only kindness anyone ever has.
