I recognised him before I got to the name at the bottom :). He is a little cutie. I hope he's doing ok at the moment.

awwww Melvin!....... morning everyone!...... raining here in NC, a good day to just plain "fart around"...... will probably do some "little projects", but basically "nothing"!.....
..... I was washing and cleaning my humming bird feed yesturday, and set it back out...... "tinkerbell" the humming bird came bye almost immediately!....... I had kept watching the finch feeder, but no birds, and I couldn't understand why!...... finally, I decided to wash it too, and when I poured the old seed out, there was a (dead) field mouse in the bottom!.... no wonder the birds wouldn't come - he was probably "stinking" up everything in the seed!..... LOL......

Hi everyone! Leela horked up a hairball about 20 minutes before the alarm. She moans a bit so I knew it was coming. I should groom her more often.

Morning Metsa and AV. Ewwwwwwww, stinking mouse in the bird seed. I wouldn't touch the seed either. AV, you have a name for your hummer? that's sweet.

Ewww, a dead mouse in the bird feeder? I wouldn't touch dinner if there was one in mine! A cat, on the other hand, would annoyingly push the seed out of the way to get to the good stuff. Again, ewwww!
I once dumped my outdoor watering can out only to find a mouse that had been in there for a long time, ewww!Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

.... LOL, I name EVERYTHING!....... "Tinkerbell" just seemed to fit that tiny little bird, so beautiful!..... reading about them on online, they are apparently "territorial", so once a bird "claims" a feeding area, he/she fights to protect it, and runs others off if they try to "share"... although they will bring their mate sometimes.....
How was your soup last night? sounded wonderful!.... I love using fresh veggies.......
-
Soup is still cooling AV, tomorrow I will ladle it into single use containers and freeze it. I have a mug of soup for lunch every day. It tastes great too, had to make sure it was OK several times though!
Ahhh, they are territorial, that will explain the behaviour Airy has described to me going on at her feeder.
Time for me to head off to bed as it 30 minutes after the witching hour. So much for an early night. Goodnight all, have a wonderful day.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

AV, hubby and I name everything too! We have Fatty the Squirrel, Mr. & Mrs. C (the cardinals), the Jay Gang (blue jays) for starters. Then we have the inanimate objects, like Steamy the Dragon (cast-iron dragon that sits on the woodburner) and of course, Larry the Lion, Leela's favorite stuffed toy.

Night MS!... sleep well!....... and don't we all have to "make sure" everything tastes just right when we cook!.... LOL
....Deb, Cuddles used to yak up hairballs on a regular basis, until I started giving her that laxatone..... I usually get it from my vet, but I think you might be able to buy it at Pet Co. or Petsmart...... lucky for me, she likes it, and though she still has the occasional "yak up", it's rare now!......

Do you name your cars? My car is called RocKo as it's number plate begins with RK, Mr MS's car is called BiFF, it's number plate is BFF and BiFF seemed to go with RocKo. Airy's car is called Flick as it's bright red like the children's song about Flick the red fire engine. OK, I've probably now confirmed that I'm crazy. LOL

Yay! England is going to host the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Break out the champagne! I am so happy. I'm glad we got the Olympics of course, but I'm much more chuffed we've got the Rugby World Cup. Who wants to come and watch some matches with me?

My first car (a palm green Austin A35) was called Puddlejumper because it was too small to go through the puddles. My Austin Healey is, of course, called the Frog (because it's a frogeyed sprite). I haven't named any of the modern cars, they have never had that much personality. Mind you I might name my current modern car, because it is beautiful and I love it, but I'm not sure what to call it.

MS, I always named my cars. Otherwise, what are you going to call them when you're enticing them to perform properly (like on a long road trip). LOL
A late start this morning...had to run an errand to pick up kitchen supplies for work.Posted 2 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

Morn all. My first car was a '55 black/yellow ford sunliner and her name was "bumblebee". I had a '64 park lane station wagon that was the color of 'butterscotch' hence the name 'butterscotch' and so it goes. My leBaron now is called "La Baroness' just because!MOL. I miss my kits. I am still in J-vile with daug and sil. I do have my grand-kitty Ms Tigerlily here tho so I am not spastic. Miss you guys. I am on a laptop so 'scuse the typos.

Morning littermates.....*ugh...too early*....need coffee....LOTS of coffee! Temps reached 108 yesterday and today will be pretty much the same. =( We've been hiding in one room as it has a window a/c unit and it looks like another day of the same here. My first car was a 64 Buick Skylark convertable! White exterior w/black top and red interior. I called it 'Freedom'. I was young and naive and sooooo happy to have it that I took my cat, Harry, for a ride in it. Needless to say.....he wasn't so thrilled about it and it took me days to get the urine out of the carpet on the floor in the back seat. LOL...Live and Learn! =)
-
LOL Karen!..... Hubbs and I, when we were first married (and young and stupid) had two cats, big Buc, and his BF, Winston..... we took them everywhere!.... Buc loved to ride in the car, no matter where we were going, he was game.... the first time we took Winston with us, he was a baby (Buc was 9 mos. older), and we started off in the car, well, he must have gotten scared, and I saw him "assume the position"...... frantically, (while trying to drive).... Hubbs grabbed a road map out of the glove box, and said "put this under him".... which I did in a split second...... so here's this baby kitten, peeing on a road map, me trying to hold the corners up like a bowl, so it doesn't get on the car seats, then, when he's finished, Hubbs flings it out the window!..... (that was bad)..... but it was the funniest thing, we still laugh about that "road trip" today!

LOL @ AV.....The visuals on that story turned my nose into a hose full of coffee!! You'd think I'd know better by now about liquids and TDK stories. =D
PM....My mom used to call us kids puddlejumpers and to this day I love that word! It always makes me smile big time! =) -
I loved Puddlejumper. She was amazingly reliable, did lots of miles to the gallon and took me through France into Northern Spain, through Belgium and Holland into Germany and throughout Great Britain. Eventually (in 1985) thr floor fell out and I had to scrap her. She was 29 years old at the time.

Just a big cup of Black Java on T.G.I.Wednesday from Milwaukee...boy it has been one of those weeks! Well, at least its not a Monday & I don't have to put up with yesterday's nonsense! Change subject...it is another pretty day sunny & low humidity hopefully my work day will fly so I can get my errands done then outside KP & air out kits as a tonic! I never name my cars unless it is misbehaving. Then I ususally call it a not too nice one! Hope all have a good day/evening.

Good morning all. Funny reading about your naming your cars and other items. My sister named her VW Bug but I can't remember the name at the moment. I am too tired this morning and am trying to jump start my brain with a cup of earl grey tea. Woken up at 3am by upstairs neighbor walking around a lot and her TV going. I still have a sore neck which is on the right side. A bit painful still. When I woke up at 3am, Sylvester was cuddled up so that his head was resting on my shoulder. I sang the John Denver sunshine song(RIP John) to Sylvester...Sylvester on my shoulder makes me happy. Traffic was awful due to a three car pile-up. Thankfully I only got to work 5 minutes late as I leave early. Manager came in almost 30 minutes late but then she usually works from 7am-6pm.
I checked the dove's nest this morning and she had popped out and was sitting on my balcony railing. She made two piles of bird poop on the railing (thanks alot dove) which I will clean when I get home. I saw that there are four eggs in the nest (two that I think aren't viable and two that she created with her mate). More meals for the calico cat in 20-25 days. It is sad this happens but it is part of life.
