I opened the cafe today, so how about opening a NS too? I have the kitties busy in the kitchen making snack foods such as finger sandwiches, cutting up fruit and veggies for snack trays, making soup and of course baking some fresh chocolate chip cookies. We also have nuts, chips and dip, cheese and crackers as well as pretzels. The fountains are ready and there is a nice cool breeze coming in from outside. Come on in and visit!

Just got home from doing the weekly shopping and having lunch with Mum. It's been a lovely day but now there is rain about. It's 57F outside and that's not too bad for a winter's day. Off to put the groceries away in the pantry/freezer etc now.

I called the doc today about a referral. Of course I didn't hear back. What is it with doctor's offices these days? You really can't get good service anywhere!! It really frustrates the heck out of me! I would love some "movie food". Hiya and good night Lainey!

It got up to 105 degrees today here!!! Unreal!
I am so lucky to have air-conditioning at home. I wasn't at work yesterday but learned that the toilets weren't working in parts of the building because so much water was being used to keep the air conditioning going. Yuk!! XP

MC, it frustrates me, too. I used to manage a surgical practice and so I just don't have any patience for incompetence. We have been waiting to hear about some tests that Mr. WWM had done last week and have heard nothing. It's ridiculous.

I am now dealing with my family doc. I called today and they don't have individual nurses. It is a large group of docs and I just got to speak with the triage nurse and she took a message. I can only imagine how many ways that message can get lost when there are no specific nurses for each doc. Yea, KW, I saw that about Oregon. Unbelieveable!

I still have more tests to do as well for my eyesight. I have a CAT scan as well as a ultrasound of my heart on Friday. I don't have my results from my EEG, bloodwork and ultrasound (re: my carotids) until next week! Makes a girl want to scream due to the delay. I guess no news is good news. I still have periods of blurry vision occasionally and just in my right eye. It scares me and I call the neuro and they say they don't have "all the info" yet that they need to make an educated diagnosis. AARGH! (By the way FF got his tooth fixed just fine!)

Has anyone read the book club selection for Aug. 1? I've been slogging through it off and on. I really like it, but I don't seem to get more than a few pages read at a time. There are several story lines. The book keeps going back and forth between them. I find myself wanting to hurry through the one I'm least interested in so I can pick up the thread on the one I like. lol

Daughter is in the middle of 2 a day practices. They practice 6 hours with 1.5 hour lunch break. On Monday they start 3 a days. That is a 10 hour day with a lunch and dinner break. I'm getting tired for her. Hope they have a winning year. They are being trained now by a past member of the Blue Knights. I think this military man forgets that some of these kids are not in the best of shape. Heard there were many that went down today. The funny part is my daughter's problem wasn't because of the over exhaustion and lack of water. Well hopefully she feels better tomorrow. She has a dental appointment in the morning and then will be late to morning practice. Hopefully the afternoon isn't too hot and they can practice on the practice field instead of the stadium. The stadium is about 10 degrees hotter. Today the temperature was over 90 degrees in the stadium.
