  1. Good morning everyone. Well I for one would love a visit to NZ. You know a friend of mine quit her job, as did her husband, and the moved to New Zealand last December. They had no idea if they would have jobs, or what would happen. They just knew they wanted to leave and try. I admire that courage--I have a tendancy to want to play it safe.

KYKAT your baked chicken sounds wonderful! I think I will have to try that. I have never used Tumeric. I do love Saffron--but it is an expensive spice.

  2. Tumeric is nothing I would ever just eat a spoon of no matter how healthy it is, but it is wonderful in the right combination of spices and herbs. Tumeric and Tarragon go hand in hand for me. Add a little garlic and now were talkin!

SM, I would love to visit NZ someday. That is cool that your friends were just able to up and follow their dreams. My husband I considered a move to Jamaica a number of years ago, but in the end just couldn't leave family and friends. Ironically enough, years later, friends of ours did take the same job and moved to Jamaica and did not love it. They stayed less than a year. Too much culture shock and they were too set in their ways to go with the Jamaican flow.

  3. I have a friend that walked into the church and said she and her husband were moving in 2 weeks. I was shocked. She has been teaching at the college for so many years and loves it! Well she was offered a job teaching in the Bahamas, so off they went! Her husband is retired and golfing and she is teaching in paradise!

  4. Vicki I think you should open the rink just because the kitties need to socialize!! An end of July bash is just the ticket!

  6. Morning Littermates!! We're in for more triple digit temps here today....Ugh!! Think I'll take my coffee iced this morning. Get a jump on the heat. I agree AV....A Global TDK Meet would be sooooo awesome and would be at the top of my bucket list should I win the lottery! NZ is a place I've dreamed of visiting since I was a little girl. *make note. to buy two lottery tickets today...one for meet up and the other for trip to NZ* =) I'm holding up in the one room window a/c cubby today. Will pop in off and on to see what everyone's up to. Have a great day my friends. Wow SM....What a change for you friends!!! The Bahamas!! Sigh!!
BTW...I hate to say it but I think I'm back to square one with the UTI I was treated for 2 mos. ago. Wish me luck....this could mean another trip back to er for a diagnosis and prescripl =(

  7. Karen you and my daughter both know the pain of a UTI. Prayers that yours is resolved. 2 months is too long to have that pain!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  8. Well, the only thing about not having work to do is that the time goes slower. We did order lunch in today, so that will be fun. Hope everyone is getting rest and problems solved and white light where needed.

  9. Thanks for the prayers SM.....I thought it was cleared up but it must not have been completely gone at the end of the antibiotics and has taken a period of time to build back up again. I really hate to have to go into ER to get diagnosed and prescribed another antibiotic because there's no way to pay for it. I feel so bad because I'm one of the people who is running up the health care costs in this country but what do I do? I have to have the medicine even if I don't have health ins. I feel soooo second class having to go in knowing that there's no money to pay for the visit just to have a prescription written. =(

  10. TGIF! I actually got to sleep through the night without upstairs neighbor waking me up. I guess yelling at the ceiling last night about her TV being too loud help or she actually heard me and it sunk in to her tiny little brain.

The dove that left her nest yesterday still hasn't come back. I think the eggs in the nest must not be viable anymore. I am waiting to see if she comes back today and if not, I am moving the nest later tonight (do it after dark so as not to be so noticable by others).

SM, I am quite angry about what your daughter and you are going through. I hope it is all worked out to yours and your daughter's satisfaction.

MC, hope you can get your answers soon regarding your health issues.

Joan, I hope you can get a nice restful nap with Miss Leela at your side today.

Got a few projects completed this morning and am waiting for a meeting to finish to see if they have more for me to work on.

Oh and the HR Rep was suppose to have made arrangements for me, my manager, the said employee and their manager and the HR Rep to meet today to discuss our issue but it seems said employee has been out since Wed. It has been nice to not have this bozo in the office but I want to get the meeting done with.

We have had so much fog lately and the temperatures have been in the high 60's to low 70's. I am loving this weather but it has been cooler this year than it has been in subsequent years. All our warm weather seems to have gone north for now.

  11. Karen you are not the one in the ER that is the problem. It is the one that has a cold that could go to a wellness clinic that calls an ambulance that is causing the problem. You need antibiotics or the infection will travel upward. It can damage your internal organs--please get seen--this is serious. Remember to eat yogurt with your antibiotic to replentish the good bacteria the antibiotic kills. It helps.

  12. Thanks SM....I'm sure I'm a part of the problem somewhat but understand that maybe not as big as some others. I really tend to hold back and do what I can to heal my problems at home but the older I get there's definitely some things I just can't cover. Thanks for your support Liz! =)

  13. Well, I'm finally out of work - vacation - a whole week! So the boss says "can I ask you something?" to which I reply, "as long as it's by 11:30!". A bit of that famous Jersey additude snuck out. Got the old "rest up, because when you come back..."
Now Leela and I are hanging out at home. I'll get a jump on some housework, then juggle errands/projects with relaxing & being lazy.

Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  14. That sounds great Joan!!! Hope the days pass slowly and that everyone of them is fun, relaxing and very fullfilling!!! Vacations are never long enough!!!! =D

Posted 2 years ago by Karenopa #

  15. I finally have a moment to peek in and see what's happening!

Karen - I'm so sorry!!!! You should not feel a bit badly about going to the ER. You are not an abuser of the system. I just wish that they would order a full workup for you instead of just treating the symptoms that you have at the moment.

  16. ..."Queen waves" to anyone still around..... Hi WWM! haven't chatted with you in a while!..... Karen, so sorry you're feeling yakky!.....Joan, enjoy that time off!

  17. Hi,AV!!!!! How was NC?

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  18. .... heavenly..... I didn't' want to come home! (never do!)..... only motivation to going home was to see my Abbs.......

.... the weather up there was absolutely perfect - Mid 70's high, and low 60's low.... only rained a day and a half (not bad)......

..... How is Mr. WWM after the bike -a- thon?.... has he recouped yet?

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  19. Oh, he's fine and planning for next year! I think that I'm going to train and see if maybe I can do it next year, too.

What heavenly weather! We've had lots of rain the last few days but they're saying to get ready for the return of hot weather. It's been so nice to finally have some rain!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  20. .... BIG brownie points for you, if you can do that bike-a-thon!..... that would be WAY too ambitious for me!...... I admire your tenacity!....

.... I almost melted when I stepped off the plane yesturday.... the heat/humidity really slapped me in the face, I felt like I almost couldn't breathe!......*wonders if doctor can write perscription to live in NC* for "breathing problems".......LOL, I'll have to check into that!.....

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  21. Oh phooey, I missed Joan :( (waving toward NJ anyway). Hope you have an awesome vacation.

Hi WWM and AV and anyone else who's around. It's bonkers here and I can't wait to go home. And it's been raining off and on all day - argh! So tired of rain, and of hubby's tennis getting rained out. Hard to believe I lived in Seattle; rain never bothered me there.

  22. hi all! Maybe my doc can write an order for "no work, full pay due to health issues" LOL I am ALL done with my tests! AMEN

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  23. Hooray for that, MC! Next question, when do you get results? I know, you probably don't know. Isn't waiting the pits? We're all waiting with you.

  24. The guy who did my cardiac ultrasound was super nice. He said IF it is a slow night (ie no major traumas thru the ER) the radiologist will read all the tests tonight and do his reports and the info will be in the computer by morning. Hopefully I will know on Monday. It was kinda funny cause I asked him who is so smart that they figured out if you lay on your left side with your legs at a 45 degree angle with feet tucked, your left arm above your head, your right arm at a 90 degree angle and one boob heading north, one boob heading south and an electrode on your tummy that you could figure out if I threw a blood clot to my brain! He got a kick out of that!

  25. OMG MC! You just made me snort coffee out my nose! And I think I've been in that particular position :)

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  26. A Friday Midwest adios to all until Monday! Enjoy your weekend...be safe & have some fun!

Posted 2 years ago by jeankit #

  27. LOL, MC!!!! I think that I have positioned patients in that very position!

I had to go and feed my herd of turtles. We have two babies that have already learned to have some turtletude. They will try to snatch a piece of melon right out of the mouth of a big turtle. They are so cute!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  28. AWWWEEE babies with turtletude!! You should take picture of them--they could come to Austin with you!! Daughter wants a turtle garden too. We had one--think he didn't appreciate the dogs....

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  29. Enjoy your weekend Jean! MC, thanks for the chuckle! I sent out a PTO (paid time off) report to a manager in my group and he had to put me in my place as I forgot the header on the report. I needed to laugh after that. Thank you! Here is hoping that they can have the results for you asap!

One hour and nine minutes till I can go home. Can you tell I am tired and wanting the weekend to start. ;-)

Hi Kilroy. Hope your day went well. How are you feeling today?

Posted 2 years ago by SylMiaFelixsMomma #

  30. SM, the problem with a turtle garden is the garden part. Those little stinkers have dug up most of my plants! Do you find them in the roads in Clovis? I know that, after our rain this week, I could probably drive most anywhere and see turtles. But we are maxed out on room in the Turtle Inn right now.
