  1. Hello all. I joined yesterday and didn't get round to introducing myself so I thought I would get down to doing it now.

    About Me.

My real name is Jade. I come from a little county called Hertfordshire in England. I am actually 3/4 Scottish though. I am 22 years of age. I am, I guess you could say - alternative, I love tattoo's and piercings. I also love art, but I am into more modern art I guess. Since I can remember I have ALWAYS had cats/kits. And right now I have over ten (in which some are waiting to go to new homes). Even as their slave I enjoy their company and attitude! And love them all excessively.

My gorgeous feline family *ITS BIG*

Okay here is a little Bio to each of my cats/kits.

Bailey - Known as Cheesy Flea's, Cheese.
Mister Grumpy Grandpa has been with me for nearly five years now. A nieghbour had asked if we was interested in one of her three kittens - in which she couldn't handle to keep. When I went round to choose my new friend I instantly fell in love with the white and black fluffy-ness now known as Cheese. His old house was a state and he wasn't being taken care of, to my standards. His food was old and dry with flies on it - heavy equipment that could easily fall was his playground - in which she threw about to try and retrieve my Cheese. When he was moved over to ours he was petrified of everything for about a week, wouldn't come from under the sofa or anything. But now he is the noisiest cat I know!

    Zhou
He is my hubby's cat. Black and white. Gorgeous and friendly - Luke (my hubby to be) didn't expect him to be born, he was a litter of one and mummy cat didn't let on to being pregnant - and Luke didn't know how to look out for the signs. He was on mic to a friend and CoCo (Zhou's mummy) let out a scream. Startled Luke and his friend asked 'What are you doing to the cat?' Luke replied 'I think she just poo'd on my chair' went over to look, and there was his little companion Zhou.

    Shakespeare
One of my queens. Mum of two litters. She is a Tortie. About two years old now and very motherly to the rest of my cats. She was one of three in Coco's second litter. when she was a kitten she was lazy and boyish - now she is the Mum to everyone and is loving and caring. she is getting spayed soon, which she won't like because she loves having kittens and being Mum - but I don't want her to have anymore litters, want to let her enjoy life.

    Gizmo
Son of Shakespeare, from her first litter. A red and white tabby. He is the unlikely twin of Obi (his BLACK brother) they shared the same placenta at birth. He was originally named Merlot. He likes to think he is Alpha male but when it comes down to it he knows his place really. He responds to his name and is VERY cuddly.

    Obi
Son of Shakespeare, twin of Gizmo. Black with a white stripe from chest to tummy. This cat thinks he is a dog - his sneeze's are a 'ruff' and he wags his tail when feeling certain emotions. He is nickname 'Obi Wonky Joby'. Shakespeare chewed his umbilical cord a little too close to his chest - and has left him with a bubble like soft, bald patch of skin on his chest which bloats out when hes full.

    Kami
Daughter of Shakespeare, and my second queen. She is semi long furred like her father Cheese. Also white and Black. She's the pretty princess of the litter and knows it. She gave birth to four gorgeous kittens, four weeks ago.
    Kami's picture - http://i30.tinypic.com/j0g1og.jpg

    Nos
Daughter of Shakespeare. The boyish one of the litter, name and claimed by my Father. Her cat dad is Zhou and she looks A lot like him. She gave birth to two deformed stillborns (heartbreaking I couldn't handle it and made Luke deal with her birth) - next day gave birth to Salem (my baby I am hand rearing) and yes a day after that gave birth to Noir (my other baby who I am hand rearing) - a three day birth - I was constantly on the phone to the Vet. I'm not sure what made her reject her kittens, because she is so nice natured and mother like. Maybe she was distraught from losing the two.

    Liger and Pickle
Shakespeare's second litter. They are going to a new home today, but we have enjoyed them being here. Liger is a red tabby with lots of attitude, and Pickle is a black tortie who is a bit more quieter but loves to play with her brother.

    Scrat, Fighter, Whoopy and Whisper.
Kami's litter, Fighter being the only boy. Girls are black and white and he is white and black. Fighter is known as this because when he was born breach he had water on the lungs. I stayed up from 2am - 5am keeping him alive (literally, he was going grey, stiff and cold) - getting the fluid off of his chest. Obviously he survived and is now the dominant one of his pack. Scrat is a little girl with huge ears and kind of resembles a Gremlin. Whisper is the nosiest of them all and screams for attention. Whoopy is the quiet loner of the pack and rather snuggle against a human than with her siblings. (Don't have a pic of Scrat yet)

    Salem and Noir
Cat Mum is Nos - Human parents, me and Luke. These are our children we are raising, because they were rejected by their Cat Mum. Noir is very noisy at five days old. And her brother just loves his food and purrs over eating - he is six days old. I am making a better video today of them feeding but I do have one (not so clear) picture of Salem snuggled in his towel.

Well there is our current feline family. We have had others as well but they have moved on or passed on. Please don't judge me for how many I have, they all get proper care and love, I assure you. And I hope me and my family will be accepted by the TDK family.

  2. Hi, Sinspearian, welcome to TDK, I don't think anyone on this site would judge you for having too many kitties, we have several members with big fur families! I'm one of the Kiwi TDKers from NZ, and I have two cats, Jasper and Libby, both scooped up from a feral colony that used to live across the road from me. I'm sure MCW will be glad to welcome another British TDKer! Look forward to getting to know you and your kits!

  3. Hi Sinsperian, I'm another kiwi. I'm owned by Moonshadow a dappled black Tortie, she was an SPCA rescue kitty. You certainly do have a big family but you must get lots of kitty cuddles too.

    Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  4. Thank you for the welcome! I get lots and lots of kitty cuddles also get lots of leg scratche's from where the kittens want to climb me! lol
what does kiwi stand for? Other than fruit - it feels like I should know :(

  5. Sorry for judging, but you really need to get your cats fixed.

Posted 7 months ago by Dee #

  6. They are going to get fixed. It's okay I knew I would get something about how many kits I have etc...

  7. Hi Sinspearian, I'm new here too, also a multi purr family, but I'm just a yank. I have 11 kitties, all fixed but a mom and her two babies. Husband brought mom home didn't know she was "with child" The little ones are four weeks old tomarrow. One black like mom and one silver grey, both boys and the sweetest little balls of fuzz ever! I know what you mean about being judged, most people say oh you have too many cats how do you standit? Any more when people ask how many I just say several, or more than two. We wouldn't give up our fur children for anything! They are well taken care of, happy, and a couple are down right chubby(working on that)

  8. Welcome SG! I know exactly what you mean! More than ten and people think your a bad owner, doesn't help I have family (more dog lovers) always on my back saying that I should get rid of them. They are well looked after and they will be spayed. Me and my Fiance have big enough hearts and the cats are happy, thats what counts! I'm glad I'm not the only one with a lot of fluff :P

  9. Hi Sins and SassyGirl! Sins, I see your avatar is named Gizmo, like my kitt is! He looks to be an orange and white (?) like my Mo also :)))

  10. Welcome Sins and Sassy. I dream of having dozens of cats in my life.

Posted 7 months ago by krazikat #

  11. Hey Katt! Yup he is a red and white tabby and is Gizmo - so that gorgeous red and white in your avatar isn't Gizmo? But you HAVE a Gizmo? still kind of strange, my Gizmo being your kits combined lol.And thanks Krazi for the welcome!

  12. Hi, Sins and Sassy and welcome to TDK!

Sins, that was such fun reading about your fur family and seeing their pictures. Although they are all beautiful, I have to say that Shakespeare is just gorgeous!

  14. Hi Sins and Sassy! Welcome to TDK; Sins, loved the quick bios of your furrkids and the pics, thanks. And, don't worry about any grief you might get about the size of your family ~ long as they are well taken care of, that's what matters most!

  17. Your descriptions of your kitty family are great, Jade. I have to agree with WMM--Shakespeare wins my heart. :) I love those golden eyes!

    Welcome to TDK Sassy!

  18. Welcome, Sins! Your kitty family is gorgeous. I love black and white kitties.

Welcome, Sassy!! Hope you both enjoy it here. I absolutely would be a lost soul without my TDK family.

  19. Sins, sorry for the delay in getting back but it was night time in my part of the world and I was sleeping. 'Kiwi' is what New Zealander's call themselves but the fruit is called kiwifruit. Just don't mix us up, it could be nasty.
    Welcome to TDK Sassy.

  20. Thanks for all the replies! I'm glad you liked the bio, and I don't mind being called Jade - more personal friendly terms then. It's nice to know that support is all over, and a nice close one also (MCW).

  21. There's a few of us Brit TDKers - as I've just been telling Smudge's Mum, another UK Newbie - me, Rubia (Oxfordshire), Polly's Mum (also in Herts), Pika (Devon) and Metsa (Dundee) are the "oldies", but there are few others who post occasionally too.

Posted 7 months ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  22. Another in Herts? Whoa, that's surprising. Thanks for the info! I will keep a eye out for them :)

Posted 7 months ago by Sinspearian #

  23. Welcome, Sins and Sassy! My name's Catherine, I live in Texas, and I have four kitties of varying ages, from a grumpy old man to a big sweet girl who (I think) just turned one.

My avatar is one of the others, my Spook, who is between two and three years old.

  24. Hi Sins and Sassy - welcome to TDK. I am another Kiwi - Moonshadow's sister in fact. I have 2 cats, Dara - a bluepoint Siamese - and Ringo, a tabby.

You have quite a handful of cats and kittens! How lovely to have them all around for entertainment.

Posted 7 months ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  25. Thanks C4C and Kapi! Oh yes they can be a handful but the rewards of being loved by them is much greater! It's great watching the kittens grow their own attitudes and personalities. And I always have someone to cuddle, especially my Gizmo who I adore!

Posted 7 months ago by Sinspearian #

  26. Welcome to TDK Sins...You are not the only one here with a large number of kitties..However I must agree, you need to get the ones you have fixed sooner rather than later, they breed too quickly. This group is passionate about this because we realize how many cats are put down every year because of over population. However we are a large family here with members all around the world, if you need help in location assistance with spay and neutering in your area Please don't hesitate to ask, we will do all we can to help find you someone in your area!!!

    Posted 7 months ago by 2bpurring #

  27. Thank you so much. I know how important it is also. And I know how many people are out there who think the easiest option is to let a cat/kit go - and I know shelters and rescue places are starting to do it as well. I promise to everyone I will get my ladies spayed - and I know they are worse than rabbits for reproducing. I take full responsibility when my queens gave birth and give them all they need.
