So my boyfriend works at a minor league baseball stadium and found 3 kittens, but sadly one was dead. The mother was around and had a tag but wouldn't let us catch her. It was dark and wet under bleachers with lots of rat poison around so he called me and I picked up kittens(Allie and Peaches). First day was rough they wouldn't eat or bottle feed cat milk so I force fed(gently). The next day I toook them to vet where they tested negative for leaukema and feliv(whew!) and they acually got them to eat wet food(science diet prescription for dog or cat, made up of mainly ground turkey) also they told me their bladder was really full but didn't say anything about intestines. I got them in a litter box and both went pee right away and one of them pooped a nice healthy soft brown poop and ever since she's been going like 3 times a day. My concern is Allie. She isn't pooping but she is peeing normal. They both are very hyper, vocal, friendly, curious and seem all around healthy. I have tried stimulating but she wiggled so much and I dont wanna squeeze her too hard. I spent 189 dollars at vet yesterday for flea medicine and testing and now u fear I have to go back bur can't afford. What kind of testing would they do or do you think I need to wait it out? She doesn't seem bloated and is eating and drinking just fine and running around. But I'm still worried since the other is going so much and she's not at all! Help!

Kittens don't need to poo daily. How old are Allie and Peaches? They may still be young enough to need stimulation to go.

LOL You answered my question. They may still be used to mama stimulating them to go. A warm wet washcloth or cotton ball and stroke in short strokes around thier anus. That may help. You may have to hold her firmly - I usually put my orphans on a towel and grasp thier tail at the base right were it connects to the body. Haven't had too many escapees that way ;)

Ok what if I stimulate more and nothing happens? How can I tell if something is wrong? What kind of tests do vets do for her if she doesn't poop. I'm freakin out I'm already in love with these little boogars!

Ugh I watched video and that freaks me out but I guess I'll have to try. How come one poops on her own without stimulation but the other doesn't? I called around to vet to see if they can give m a free exam and I'll pay for any medication and nobody is willing to help. They are sleeping right now I'll wake them up in a couple hours to feed and I'll give the stimulation a shot and let you know what happens! Btw in the video she only paid 24 for lots of stuff I was shocked. I live in California and everythinf is a rip off! You'd think if someone worked at a vet than they'd be a little more willing to look at an animal for free because it costs them nothing(not talkin about medication, that I would pay for) considering I already have 3 cats one who is diabetic and 15 years old. Costs me a lot or insulin. Ugh

Hi KC, well, try the gentle stimulating (gentle circular motions with a warm damp washcloth or cotton ball) first, and see what happens before you try anything more drastic, like the 'triangle method' in the video. Cats are like people, they all develop at their own speed. Yep insulin's expensive, but I am lucky that I live in a small country area in NZ where vet bills, on the whole, are very reasonable.

her poop was dark dark brown but very solid, normal??? the other one poops light brown but very soft and sometimes comes out like frozen yogurt

but i just statted them on wet food so should i wait a couple days and do a dootie report?? Sorry im talkin so much i am so happy!! its been on my mind past couple days i am soooooo relieved
