I have 2, 4 week old kittens and I let them out for 1-2 hours every 4 hours(to eat and play) and when I see them getting tired I stick them in box with blanket and they hate it and go nuts tryin to get out. I feel awful but they are so small I can't let them roam in room. What do I do?

What I do is feed them milk mixed with wet food. They play for 1-2 hours then I stick them in box to sleep they whine for abou 5 mins and try to get out but then pass out for long time(4hours about) I haven't started giving them water because I thought kitty milk was hydrating. And whenveer I wake them I put them in litter box where one goes poop every time and pee and the other pees(she has pooped once yesterday after not poopin 2 1/2 days I just found them Friday) is my technique wrong??

They should always have water available. Your babies are young enough they could still need a little stimulation to poop. Check the poop tags and you will find lots of articles.

Silly I am not feeding cow milk, kitty milk! It's not KMR it's already made and it's for newborns. Il introduce water when they wake up. I still want to know if my technique is ok! Is the box thing ok? I have an extra bedroom but there's a computer and wires and stuff I though would be dangerous and my bathroom is tinnyyyy that opening door would need to be slow and I don't want someone to quickly open too and smack them or step on accident

The box is ok for nap-time. If you feel they are too restricted get a larger box. They will let you know when they are too old for the box (they will escape) If they are not crying for more than 5 mins or so before settling, you are doing what mom would do minus the snuggling down with them. How about adding a ticking clock to the box?

The box may be too small. A good alternative is a child's swimming pool--it's large enough to hold water and a small litter box and they can't get out.

You could try a medium/big dog crate.. I used one for a mama cat and kits and had room for a bed, small litter pan and wter... and you can hang toys from the top to amuse them... They just want to be out, or on the other side of the door or whatever. You need to keep them safe! Thanks for rescuing them!

If you can't get a loaner cage or a bigger box, you could securely tape two regular sized boxes together and then cut a few holes in the sides that join. That gives the little rascals two 'rooms' to play in and allows them to explore. If you have the space, you can add a third box and put their litter box in that one. Then they would have a bedroom, a playroom and a bathroom.

I have a baby play pen that is 8 panels and can make an octagon shape or any other shape. It doesn't have a bottom and for 3-4 week old kittens they can't squeeze thier little sweet selves out of the holes. I put an old screen on top and it is purrrfect! You could probably find one on Freecycle, CL, Garage Sale, etc for free or really cheap. Or, like PP say, a large dog crate would work well too. I think for 4 week olds, though, a box is a wee bit small. I graduate my babies out of a box at about 2-3 weeks or when they can no longer fit thier heads thru the holes in the "Weaning Pen" as I call it.

Yes it is small. 4 days ago when I found them they couldn't get out and now they have no trouble! They grow fast!

When my 4 kids were tiny they spent the night in a huge dog crate ! Goodwill has them for cheap and it keeps them out of trouble when they cant be watched. I feel bad but its for there own good. Look at some of my myspace pics - they do grow fast but the dog crate worked out well for them

I also had them in a dog crate with a cardboard piece in the opening so mom could get in and out, after some time I had to put cardboard on the fron of the crate so the babies could go out but not so far. After 5 weeks old they escaped anything, no matter how tall the walls on their box were, I would get home to find kitties running around everywhere, so I finally gave up and kitten proofed the room they were in, covered wires and plugs, took out anything they could break, also covered any openings they could get in to, put lots of toys on the floor, 3 tiny liter boxes with non clumping liter and leave them there when I'm not home, as soon as I get home they get to play anywhere they want. Mommas litter box is in a spot where only she can get in to cause it has clumpling litter. I think they need a lot of space now cause they love playing, jumping and running like little horsies. I also have a radio on in their room playing classical music.
Good luck with them!!
