The soup is nothing special SM, just a packet with some stock and split peas and then I add heaps more water and grate or chop a mountain of vegetables like potato(only 1) and lots of carrots, an entire bunch of celery, sometimes pumpkin,Swede(rutubaga),onion, sweet potato and choko. Then to 5 litres of this I add 1 cup of pearl barley and 3/4 cup of red lentils and simmer for 2-3 hours.

SM, check out this recipe. It has a bit of wickedness added in the form of blue cheese.

Also this is a choko, it has very little flavour of it's own but takes on the flavour of what it's cooked with. I use them to bulk out other vegetables as they are reasonably cheap. http://www.vegetables.co.nz/vegetable.php?id=28

Oh great!, I'm having a real a**e about face day today. Mr MS is going onto night shift after working a half day and it's got me all turned about.

Sorry all.. popped off to eat my dinner and then I had to entertain my employers aka my cats. AV, we don't have Sam's here but we do have is Costco which I believe is similar to Sam's Club (selling items in bulk or at discount for other items).
I am now going to try to go to bed now but that all depends on if the neighbors quiet down. I see a full moon tonight (first night in several weeks without a foggy night) so it could make everyone restless.
I have six months at my current place as I signed a six month lease (till Jan 31st) so my rent wouldn't go up $75 a month. I am hoping that in the six month period I find the funds to move to quieter place that is somewhat closer to work and is a place where the owner takes pride in keeping the place nice.
Sweet dreams all. As they say..."talk to you on the flip side" or something like that meaning see you all tomorrow.

Evening all, on my way out the door for that place (shhhh w**k) but its my Friday and then I am off for 9 days! MS, don't worry about talking to yourself, I do it all the time and have to laugh when I don't like the responses :)

Poor old chap indeed! (shhhhhh don't tell that I called him old) Big job with a deadline so it's all hands on deck.
Had Mum here today having video chat with Airy and she's still in awe of being able to see and talk to Airy like that. We sat and laughed like a pack of hyenas, she thoroughly enjoyed herself. Morning Deb , Jcat and MS!..... ah the video chat - they are a marvel aren't they?.... we have web cams on our laptops too, so it's nice to be able to see the kids......however, we have to make an "appointment" to have our video chats..... I think Daughter runs around furiously cleaning up her room and putting stuff away before she "goes on line"..... LOL.....(like she doesn't think I'm on to her?)

Oh AV, you just hit the nail on the head then. I gave Airy about 30 minutes warning so she could tidy up the apartment and herself a bit. Then at the last minute she discovered Jim-man had taken the ear/mic piece to uni by accident. Airy ran to meet him half way and when we started the chat she was puffing and all red faced. We did laugh.

So far she has tried on some dresses to see what style suits her best but she is going to look in a couple of other cities and may even get her dress made for her. They have booked a venue and that's about all at the moment. Of course right now the house she was renting has sold and she has to move out in a few weeks. Luckily she is moving in with a friend who has a good sized house that he rattles around in. It even has a cat door for Ruby who will be on a good behaviour bond, if she starts scratching his expensive lounge suite then Ruby may end up over here living with my Mum until Meegz moves back here to live next year. I will keep you updated on wedding plans as they happen AV.

Wow! even with the exchange rate those dresses are a great price, compared to the ones Meegz tried on. I think they brought out the expensive dresses first so you'll fall in love with them and not look elsewhere. They were over $2000! !Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #
