A visit from the Bridge

  1. The light shines as if to open up a pathway for the three cats to make their way down from Heaven. Led by a long-hair calico, the two brothers - a long hair siamese named Simon and his brother Ruso, a short-hair tabby/siamese mix, look around as they come back to the place that they left so long ago. It hasn't been so long since C.C. visited though, and she confidently moves forward carrying her share of the postcards with her. Simon and Ruso also have stacks of postcards to deliver as well.

Each card has a picture of a beautiful rainbow stretched out over a lush green meadow on the front, and a single paw print on the back where each of the kitties and puppies have left their signature. There are too many cards to list by name, but the cats each know where they have to go.

A faint echo of kitty purrs fills the rooms as the cats pay a visit. One by one, the people of TDK who have had to say good-bye to a love one receive cards that were strategically placed where they will find them. Softly, silently, the Rainbow Bridge kitty's continue on their mission until all but one of the cards have been delivered. This last one is special as the kitty just left a short time ago.

C.C. slips into the room where Missy's parents are grieving her loss, and gently place the special card where they will find it. From somewhere under a beautiful rainbow, Missy watches - hoping her parents will find her card. She is alive and well in this beautiful place, still feeling the love that her parents lavished upon her while she was there with them. That love will stay with her until they are all reunited again.

C.C., Ruso, and Simon make one more special visit to the person that still misses all of them so much, leaving their paw prints and purrs behind to let their human know that they still love her before making their way up the path and back to the bridge.

Their mommy wipes tears from her eyes as she finishes writing about their visit, then says a prayer for all those who are missing their babies.

  2. OMG, I have tears rolling out of my eyes! Big crocodile tears. That is so touching. Thanks for that OW. It meant a lot to read it!

  3. I have a river flowing over here, too, MollyCat!
OwlWatcher, you've always written beautifully. Not once have I read something you've written for people who have lost their kitties without bawling like a baby. You definitely have tons of talent.
I need a box of tissues now.

  4. Jiggs, being a healing kitty, snuggles with Missy, knowing she's confused. Shaddo has always been in awe of C.C. ever since he arrived at the bridge because it was she who was able to come back and gently purr a very special message in my ear when I was at my lowest of lows.
