  1. Every day for the past two years I've visited this site.

I've even, recently, stopped lurking, said hi, and asked for some advice myself.

The pleas for help keep coming, and coming, sometimes exactly the same desperate questions, which for that person, right then, is a matter of life and death.

And you guys keep helping, gently, patiently,

    even in death.

even when people face the worst possible thing they can imagine (there's a thread going here right now about the poor darling who lost her kitten by accident).

Your words really do help people cope, help people change, help people learn,

    help gorgeous cats

    You really are good people.

  2. I agree with you. So does my Fiance. We lost our daughter last night (Missy our hand reared kitten) and these guys supported me up to and after her death. They hardly know me but can find it in their hearts to help me to that extent. Thank you so much to all TDKer's for helping us through that very tough time.

  3. Sharbie, on behalf of all us TDKers - thank you for that lovely post. We're a long way from perfect, having our spats as any family will do, but we are bound together by our love for our cats, and that common ground, that empathy shines through everything we post :o)

  7. Thank You! and Welcome to TDK! Many of us found our way here at a time of need, I had just lost a very special kitty Mr.Bug and this wonderful group of people from around the world helped me through it. That was 2 years ago!

  8. I am pretty new to this site and have thought the same thing. This is an amazing group of people that are kind and most of all care a great deal about the cats in their lives and the lives of others! This is the first time I have ever been part of a site that was overwhelmingly positive.

  9. .... me too, it was over a year ago, I lost my little Orangie, Milo, and I found TDK.... I "lurked" for quite a while before I started posting, but when I did, I was welcomed with open arms!......

.... so, welcome to you, and we look forward to getting to know you!

  10. I discovered TDK two years ago - right after my calico cat, C.C., passed away. I didn't post any comments until I saw a beautiful picture of a calico kitten that reminded me so much of my baby C that it hurt. I wrote about my C.C., and I too was welcomed with open arms and lots of support. I knew right then that I had found a very special place filled with wonderful people. I have been here ever since then.

  11. Welcome to the fluffiest site on the internet! Though no one here ever met them, I believe several TDKr's feel as if they knew my boys, Jiggs and Shaddo, way before they passed away last year. The shared excitement & concerns with their ups & downs and finally the incredible tributes of true condolences when the boys each made their way to the Bridge was awesome and comforting.

  12. I agree whole heartedly. All the support I got from everyone about my dearest little Speck, was given truely with honest love, and genuine kindness. And it was something I really needed. It has touched my heart, the compassion, and empathy that all the TDK'er have shown, not only to me but to all the other people out there who have needed it. I stumbled onto this site and I'm so glad I did. I hope that I too will be able to give as much of myself to others on this site who need it, as those who have for me. Again Thankyou to all of you out there.

  15. I would like to pay tribute to our Kittenmaster, Fraser Lewry, who set up this site as a respite from all things unfluffy on the web, and who gives us such pleasure with the beautiful baby kittens he chooses for us each day. Thank you, Kittenmaster! I would honestly never have thought I would join a chat group but I am totally addicted to this one!

  16. I agree that this is such a fantastic haven on the world wide web!
I came here seeking advice for the hours old kittens that I had found
in the development where I live. Because of all the great advice and help that I received here, one of the kittens is still alive, and thriving!
Little Brutus reached a milestone on August 3rd, when he peed in my
ashtray! LOL! I cleaned it out, and filled it w/ litter...he taught himself
what to do! He still doesn't poop on his own, but at least now he can pee like a big kitty! And today, he starting eating kitten food mixed w/ formula off of a spoon. He was born on July 2, so he's about 4 1/2 weeks old.
He knows his name and comes when he is called. I couldn't have done this
without all of the wonderful, loving hearts here on The Daily Kitten.
Thank you to everyone! Head bumps, and deep purrrrrs to you all!

  17. KM has a name???? Wow! I just thought he was Kittenmaster. Like Madonna. One name.

Always thank you to Kittenmaster. There would be nothing without him!

  18. Hi, Lisa, not only does he have a name, he's a Kiwi too, living in London :) (Unless I've got it wrong, which is not beyond the realms of possibility...)

  19. Thank you so much Sharbimillionaire for your kind Kudos! We have been growing, expanding and becoming very close to one another over quite some time. It has always helped me (I hope that's not selfish) to forget my own troubles when I come to TDK and focus on others and their pain, rather than mine. We've truly gotten thru some horrendous times together. Hope you stick around and become one of us. Got Kitty Pics???? =)

  20. This place is a place where we console, laugh, help, and listen. This place has helped some of us get through some tough and dark times and it continues to be a place of support.
