I wouldn't have believed it!!!! Late Saturday, in the wee hours of the morning, Max got sick. I heard him throw up, so I got up and cleaned up what he had just upchucked. Two hours later, he's throwing up again, this time only white foamy stuff. One more time an hour later. By this time, I'm thinking he's "stopped up" again (he has a history of UT problems) and I'm going to have to get him to a vet today somehow, somewhere.
Let me go back to Saturday morning--I gave Cali her usual breakfast around 6 a.m. When she's done, she usually meows a bit, then stops. Don't know why-she just does. But yesterday, she kept meowing and hollering and didn't stop even when I got up at 7 a.m. Max does not eat anything but his Science Diet Prescription CD,--usually. Anyway, I had to go to work at 8 a.m., and when I got home, I found "throw up" of the food I gave her all over the rug in the living room. BUT--the thing is, I think Max might have eaten the food instead of her (something he NEVER does, but might have) and that's why she was hollering--she didn't get her breakfast at all!! And Max, not being used to that kind of food, would throw it up.
Of course, this is the first thing I thought of when he got sick during the night--he ate that food and it caused him to have problems again. I had picked him up and put him on the bed with me to settle him down, and he started to "hunker" like he was trying to poop or pee. I said "oh, no, not here!" and picked him up and put him on the little rug next to the litter box, still hunkered. Thought better of that and put him IN the litter box, still hunkered. Nothing! He got out and walked away. This is about 6 a.m., so I put him in the bathroom and closed the door--thinking if he did anything, at least it would be in a place I could clean up easily. He was very quiet--no meowing or anything. I went back to bed for a couple of hours. Then I got up and went into the bathroom to see how he was doing--he just casually walked out. When I went to use the toilet, I looked and there was poop in the toilet!!! It wasn't me that did it--I used the bathroom during the night but it was only #1 and I flushed. And there was evidence that the turd had dropped near the front of the bowl and then rolled into the water, so it had to be him!!!!!!!!! And now he seems perfectly fine!
He's back to his usual self. He does get constipated once in a while, and when he does finally go, it's wherever he happens to be--in bed, on the floor, anywhere. But this time he had to have gotten up on the toilet seat and did it in the potty! What a cat!! It would be nice if he'd keep doing it that way!! But I thank God it wasn't the UT problem again.
