Lainey, my father had to have an internal defibrillator placed. It is a fairly routine procedure and should give your father a lot of piece of mind knowing that the defib will kick in if his heart beat becomes erratic.

Lainey, I've been thinking about you today. I have a song that keeps running through my head, one of my favorites. I love the old musicals, and I love Rodgers and Hammerstein, but my favorite song of theirs comes from a play that is actually tragic and sad - "Carousel". In case you don't know it, I wanted to give you the lyrics to the song "You'll Never Walk Alone".

Lainey, you will NOT kill your dad! Please do not ever think that way. We are all where we are at this very moment because we are meant to be. Please know that your Dad is in God's hands and God will guide the physician's, nurses and YOU as to what to do next. I believe everything happens for a reason, one we may not understand. Take care of yourself so you can be strong for your dad. I am joining the "force" to support you and your family! Prayers and hugs to you!

Lainey you are always in my prayers and I will not cease praying for your father's health. He is also on my teams prayer list as well. I am very impressed at how you are handling this. Having a seriously ill parent is so scary and traumatic for a child--even an adult child. Prayers of strength and comfort Lainey.

As you told your dad, prayers are coming from all over the world. He smiled knowing that these prayers are coming from cat people. I have found that people who love and care for animals are expressing the love of God, for God certainly loves ALL his creation. By caring for your father and attempting to do the very best by him, you are expressing that same love, the love that nutures and protects. There is no more powerful love than that. You are a wonderful daughter to be so concerned for him: bless you.

Thank you, everyone! I've got a horrible stress migraine and going to try and sleep for a bit. A quick update: dad will be moved to the University Of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore on Monday, where they plan to put in the new pacemaker and the defibrillator. If all goes well he will be sent back to the the local hospital for continued treatment on his gallbladder infection. He is being moved out of ICU and into a room with a monitored bed. I will catch up more and with everyone later or over the weekend. I love and care about each and every one of you. Love lainey

Thanks, Amy... yep, off to bed for Lainey and this freaking headache. Stress eat? I can't even eat (that's a first!). Briefly saw that you don't need the surgery and you are in my prayers. Yes, that TDK white light and prayers are something else.

Good morning, everyone. Sorry I disappeared over the weekend, had a heck of migraine and honey had some serious issues that all I could do was just stand and love him and be strong for him.
Oh my how the prayers of the cat people are helping! Dad is so much stronger. He looks 70 instead of 83 and sounds so strong! I know he isn't out of the woods but it is so good to have my daddy back. he asked me more about the "cat people who are praying for me" so I told him all about you all. He is so pleased!
He has some tests today and if all goes well will have the new pacemaker and the defribillator put in later today. They may also remove his gallbladder while he is at the "big" hospital (University of Maryland). He may have to "start over" where physical therapay is concerned but we'll take one step at a time.

Oh Lainey I'm so happy that your dad is doing so much better and YOU sound so good that I'm doing a Happy Dance! I love the power of TDK Prayer and White Light and isn't God Beautiful? Still sending healing prayers for dad and I pray that you and honey are back to feeling well. =)
