Has anyone else watched this? I'm almost sad to admit that I just spent the past two days watching every single episode up until the most recent and I am hooked!
I could do without all the sex scenes, but goodness, something about the romance and the weird supernatural stuff just keeps me intrigued. Haha

MM, Hubbs and I watched it last season, and we LOVED it!... sadly, our cable carrier changed in the Spring, so we haven't been able to catch up :(
but we loved it, it totally had us intrigued, we'll have to rent the next season and get caught up on Bill and Sookie..... we also missed Dexter - we were really hooked on that too!......

Aarrrrgh, I LOVE the sound of it -- loved Buffy to bits -- but it's on a channel I can't get here. I may have to buy it! Did you hear that Anna Paquin (Kiwi girl, well, born in Canada I think, but we like to claim her as ours, her sister and family still live here in Welly) and her co-star have just announced their engagement, guess that's real chemistry on the show...

It looks like you can watch the episodes online here from the 1st season and the 2nd season.

I have read the books too. Loved them, but I don't have cable or satellite so I've never seen the series. I found out I can rent them on Netflix though!

Love True Blood !! I watched the first episode by channel surfing last summer and have been hooked ever since ! Knowing the real life Bill and Sookie are engaged makes the show all that much more interesting!

I am hooked on True Blood series. I too could do without the sex scenes and some of the gore is a bit much but I am very interested in the science fiction/supernatural part of it.

The series is written by Charlaine Harris. It doesn't really have a series title, although I think they've started putting something like "A Sookie Stackhouse novel" on the covers.
I think Harris is rereleasing all 8 of her books in one big (compendium? is that the word?) later this fall.
The books and the TV series are very different in terms of plot (although the characters' personalities are pretty spot-on). The first season followed the first book pretty closely, but the differences are much greater with season two.

I've seen all the True Blood (only reason, including Entourage, I am holding onto HBO). I just bought season 1&2 of Dexter and I think this is much better with gore and sex. Better writing for this series on the whole. I looked at the books True Blood is based on, but the writing was not my cup of tea. Cato is going to meet up with Eric of True Blood fame in his next blog post :) Elizabeth
