  2. Make sure you introduce them slowly..have a separate room for the kitten and allow the adult cat to smell the kitten throught the door, then exchange bedding between the them so they can get used to each others smells and after you introduce them make sure you supervise them together for several days before leaving them alone together. Also, make sure to give your adult cat plenty of attention, you don't want him to think you have a kitten to replace him or he may never be nice to the kitten.

  3. If the adult male cat is whole (not neutered) he may not ever be happy about the new cat. If the adult is neutered, he may just adopt the kitten as his 'baby' and take care of the new one.

Be sure to click on any links (pink tags in the upper right hand corner) to read what other forum members have done about introducing new fur babies. There's lot of good info to be found there.

  4. I'm currently going through the introduction of kitten to two older cats. So far it's not been that easy; a lot of hissing and growling. I know its going to get better though, especially if I follow the advice - lots of treats and fuss for the older cats and gradual introductions. It;s only been 2 weeks so it's early days. I'm just noticing small improvements each day though.
That's very brief advice compared to what other people on here can offer I am sure! Hope it all goes well!

  5. My 3 boys (all altered) initially ran away when I introduced a new kitten, but very quickly (days) accepted and soon they were all playing together.
