Tonight we are having wine and cheese (meats and crackers too!) NS! There are many wines from the world over for your sampling. Kitties are shining the wine glasses and are ready to serve you (if they can quit sneaking cheese samples!). If you are not a wine drinker we have a full bar with alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Come love a kitty and have a snack! Happy Thursday or Friday depending where you are!

Hi MC! How are you holding up? I'm still holding you and FF in my thoughts, hoping everything will get better SOON.
I am hanging out watching a baseball game (Yankees/Red Sox, whoo hoo!) Mike went with one of our neighbors to look at a possible replacement for his bicycle (Mike's, not neighbor's), so I'm on my own for a bit. Georgie was spazzing earlier, chasing his new feathery toy around, but now he's curled up on the couch.
I'll help myself to a nice glass of Cloudy Bay chardonnay (which I just had in reality), some cheese and crackers, and a snuggly kitten.

i would like some port wine cheddar cheese spread on ritz crackers, an ice cold diet pepsi, and a cuddler/purrer for my lap, thank you...
(maybe even some crab meat dip with cream cheese, please)

Hi MC, Kilroy and Cheri! I will have the same as Cheri, except please add a bit of Malibu Rum to the Pepsi. Thanks!
Lost my loan paymebt book. It's frustrating, because I thought I was beginning to have some organization with paperwork. Hoping it will turn up; it's with a couple of other things and I REALLY hope I didn't mistakenly recycle it. In the meantime, I just put a sticky on the check with the account number and payment number. Hey, they want their money, don't they? I've finally settled down and let it go, for now.
Off to watch the season finale of "Burn Notice". See you later!Posted 7 months ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Hi, MC, Kilroy, cheri and Joan. Looks like a slow night on the night shift.
Hubby and I just got back from our favorite Mexican restaurant. We are celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary today. :)

Good Evening All!
Congratulations KW! Every year is better than the last!
My husband called me at work and told me to meet him outside--there was my brand new Jetta! I have refused to get rid of my Escort--almost 15 years old! Now he said it can go in peace. We have been looking for a decent affordable used car for daughter, but I got a new one!! I took him for a drive tonight.
-
Very nice, SM. What a great surprise!! Nice husband. :)
So will your daughter-child inherit the Escort?

Would the Escort qualify as a "clunker" for trade-in purposes in getting a car for your daughter, SM?

No because of the great gas milage. We put it up for sale, but no one really wants a 15 year old car--even at a low price. Husband said he thinks he will junk it--we will get something for the scrap metal--my heart is breaking. Daughter's grandmother gave her an LSS 3 years ago. It was great for 2 year. When she got it, it had an old leak in the engine--more expensive to rebuild the engine than the car is worth. Now it doesn't run. There is someone that would like to use the car with the Boys and Girls Club so that they can practice car repair. If we donate it, we get a nice charitable contribution for tax time. The Olds would qualify--but it doesn't run.
-
Would a dealer take the Olds if you towed it to the lot? I haven't looked closely at the clunker program. I don't know why it would need to be in running condition since the dealers are supposed to destroy the engines. :)

We were told it has to drive in. There was a dealer doing push, pull, or tow that was 2 hours away. They stopped that because of cash of clunkers. My husband and a friend were going to try and get some sealant into it to hold long enough to get it in to the dealership--if we can get a deal. We started looking as a simple Hyundia Accent. That is what we would like to do. Praying that it all works.
-
I just looked at the website for the cash for clunkers program. Your dealer is right. The vehicle does need to be in driveable condition.

I'm going to watch some TV with the hubby. Sweet dreams to all!

I was checking out the program as well, and having the car evaluated. You will not believe this but it misses the program MPG by 1! It has to get a combined rating of 18 or less MPG and mine is 19! I guess the Olds is about to become a donated science experiment. I had such high hopes!

Hellooooo? anyone here?

It's been 6 hours since the last post so I'm guessing most people are tucked up in their beds(US) or out at work(UK). I'm heading off to bed now to curl up with my trusty hot water bottle.
It's 10.37pm NZ time, ...the night is chilly in NZ and cool to d**n hot in USA ..... so time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes gratis AZDEBRA, LV , & Tigger from the beginning....good job everyone & bless you...
check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Boxcheck - windows slightly open for Northern TDKers' spring and closed for Southern TDKers' autumn.
Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Airy and Jim-man. White light, healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Be careful out there! Bless all those whom have left before us, please watch over us >^..^<

Annie, I'm still here, just. You're just waking and I'm just heading off to bed. I had a lovely evening with my daughter, she popped in and we bought a roast dinner and then just sat and chatted. Hope you have a great Friday, it was a great Friday here when we test drove it for you. Saturday is just 1h 20m away.

But have you two done any wedding shopping yet, MS? Inquiring minds need to know...
A roast dinner, yum, yum. I went and cuddled my favourite orangey fluffy kitten again today -- they have renamed him (I knew Orlando wouldn't last) but they've decided he's a SHE and have called her Briar. Which is rather pretty. But you know, I looked at her bottom again today, and her paws, and I still suspect she may be an Orlando.... However, such assumptions may be where I've been going wrong all these years in my lovelife, lol!
Anyway, any trace of shyness has more or less disappeared, she was thoroughly enjoying munching on me and batting me about the head in between kisses...

No shopping yet Jcat. We looked at wedding dresses one day then needed a week or so to recover from looking at the price label. Tomorrow I hope to go with Meegz to look at the venue they have chosen and booked, then we are sorting out things for the engagement party.
Meegz is in the process of moving at the moment with her house she was renting having been sold and the new owners have their own tenants to move in. Today I had Meegz bring over her pot plants or what she could fit in the car. I was told that any empty pots I can plant up but I'm not allowed to keep her tulips. I'm going to have fun. he he he.
Oh dear, just got a mental image of you turning the kitty upside down to check, LOL. Oh my, I have a Morepork sitting right outside the window making a lovely sound.Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

I imagine they are prohibitive, MS, I imagine even the fabric costs an arm and a leg (oh well, less to clothe, tee hee). My mum sewed her own wedding dress, she was determined it was going to be perfect... I don't suppose you have any ancestral wedding dresses still around that a clever designer and seamstress could remodel for Meegz -- I quite like the idea of brides wearing their grandmother's (or whoever's) dress... but then I LOVE vintage!
Poor kitty, I didn't have to turn her upside down, I just lifted her tail and blew, tee hee. The girls at the shelter suggested I grope, since that's the way the vets and the professionals do it, but I was HORRIFIED at the idea... How GROSS can you get...
-
Morning Peeps!......LOL @ Jcat and "Orlando aka Briar"...... only time will tell with that one!.....
Sticker shock can be tramatic MS!..........maybe you can grow enough flowers to decorate the wedding, since "the dress" might run over budget!.... I actually saw a beautiful wedding once, that a lady with a real "green thumb" brought all her own flowers and greenery - she really did an outstanding job!.....
-
snort, snert. grope! LOL. It would only need one deft finger tip.
I still have my wedding dress that my mum made but neither of our girls will fit it. I was really skinny way back then, pre baby days. They ruined me! Time for me to go and cuddle my hot water bottle, we're building quite a relationship with Mr MS on night shift. I haven't named it yet but time will tell on that one. Goodnight.Posted 7 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #
