First Time Kitten Owner and Newcomer to DAILY KITTEN

  1. Hey all. My name's Dana. Last night, my boyfriend and I got a beautiful 3 month old male kitten named Ziggy. I have never owned a kitty before but my boyfriend has a 3 year old female, tuxedo cat, Alize, who we love dearly.
Upon bringing home baby Ziggy I'm sad to say he began sneezing up a storm. As a first time mommy, I was soo scared so right away I took him to our vet, who then tested for cat luekemia ( Negative Thank goodness!) and also gave him a deworming pill. He then told me he had an upper respatory infection :(:(
He put him on Baytril tabs half a pill every 24 hours. I'm soo worried about the little guy. I was crying when I came home. I just don't want to see his health decline as he is just a baby. :( I will post pictures soon, and hopefully Ziggy will make a full recovery so he can join Alize and be a family. Pray for him. I'ts nice to find a forum like this! I look forward to getting to know all of you!

  6. Welcome! I also have a 3 month old kitten her name is Bianca. Sounds like he has an upper respitory infection. Try getting him to the vet!
