  1. ACK!!!! I failed miserably!!! I didn't get a single answer right!!!

Looks like it's bread and water for dinner for me tonight......

  2. #3 & 7 correct only. These are great Dee.
WWM add milk instead of water(and dried fruit) and make a bread & butter pudding, much tastier.

  3. I always learn so much from these...lots of fun.

MS...the bread and butter pudding you mentioned must be a UK/NZ thing. The first time I heard about putting stale bread chunks into a bowl with hot milk and sugar was from Nigella, on her cooking show. I have tried it a few times with leftover cuban bread...and it is very comforting. I really like her show but she always makes me so hungry with the way she passionately eats her cooking!

  4. Dee you hit the nail on the head as bread and butter pudding is considered a comfort food. Ohhhh Nigella's cooking shows are fantastic. I won her book "How to be a Domestic Goddess" 'baking and the art of comfort cooking' several years ago. It's fantastic and just reading it makes you drool. I gave it to Meegz as most of the recipes aren't suitable for me now. I made a wonderful bread & butter pudding with Panettone bread a couple of years ago, scrumptious.

  5. Oh, I love Panettone bread! But, it is impossible to find it at any other time except Christmastime, so it has been a Christmas Eve tradition for us for many years. I also use it to make french toast, using egg nog instead of milk. Gosh, I love Christmas...haha!

  6. Have you tried making your own Dee. Plenty of recipes to be found on recipezaar.com and a great sounding panettone bread & butter pudding with spiced orange sauce on allrecipes.com
There is even a bread maker recipe. Daughter Meegz makes some occasionally.

  7. That's funny - I did know #1 but that was only because they mentioned it was from Poland and when I was there last year they were talking about it - right now it is quite trendy. No, I didn't have any. I got #4 and #7 too. The rest - I had no clue!

  8. I got #2 (I know my Jersey diner jargon!), #4 & #7. I thought I got #1 and the last one too, but *cue the raspberry* WRONG!

  9. Wow...I just got the Baked Alaska one correct...I guess I am not a Gormet/gormond! Thanks Dee for keeping us on our toes with food trivia!
