Hey TDK family. My sister could use some good thoughts and prayers. She has a 16 year old schnauser, Maddie. Ms. Maddie has been her constant companion for many years and is such a sweetie. She has been declining for a while but the last 2 days have been pretty bad. She called me today and told me that she will have to make the decision in the next day or two. Maddie has been dropping weight, throwing up her food and getting generally weak. The vet put her on some meds for her stomach and liver on Friday. She was better yesterday but early this morning Maddie could not make her way across the hardwood floor. My sister refuses to let her suffer. At this point she is in no pain but is so very weak. I think that she will probably send her to the bridge in the next day or so. My sis is a breast cancer survivor, divorce survivor and all around survivor. She can be rather "prickly" sometimes but has a heart of gold. If you are a friend, you have one for life. If you are family she will go to the end of the earth for you. If you don't mind please say a prayer for her. I know this is going to be so very hard for her. I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much.

That's great news Puddytat! Our Abby had many problems in the last couple of years of her 14 yr. life and many times when it looked like she was ready to go she'd perk up and go on for quite some time. I'm so glad that Maddie is doing better. Sending prayers for continued good health for Maddie and courage to your sister who will one day deal with the loss of her wonderful friend and companion. =)
