  1. Once again I'm trying to figure out something Mr. K and I can do during some days I got off from work. They were approved on Friday (the 7th) and the dates are the 17th-19th. Most "last minute" travel sites define last minute as "at least 2 weeks from now" - not helpful!

I know we could stay here in the city; after all, people come from all over the world to vacation here but a. it's hot and b. I wanna go somewhere!!!!! (stomps feet)

    Sorry, just wanted to vent.

  2. Hmm, I believe that the WWM B&B is available for those dates. (what month are we talking about?)

  5. We're talking *this month*, as in this coming week. I would love beyond expressing to come stay at the WWM B&B (I would even bring George to meet his favorite lady cats), but I melt at approximately 80 degrees :( Plus, getting flights anywhere at this late date is $$$$$.

  6. A few days at the beach are always nice.

  7. What about heading up to Maine for a few days? You can drive, and I'm sure the weather is cooler.

  8. 80 degrees? That's practically winter coat weather here!

GD and CM, come on down!

  9. Hmmm, down? up? over?

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  10. Uh - over maybe is more geographically correct?

  11. I found Midland on the map - it's "up" for me!

  16. Then again you could be yonder. Is there a statute of limitations on how far 'yonder' is?

  17. You know what I'd suggest Kilroy... ;o)

  18. Trust me, MCW, I'd love another hop across the pond; the problem is finding a reasonable flight with only 10 days notice.

I'm sure something will work out, it usually does, it's just FRUSTRATING!

  19. Is there some town within driving distance that you would enjoy spending a few days there? Get a nice hotel with a pool and maybe other perks that you would enjoy staying at. Then spend time strolling around the town, shopping, eating, people-watching. It would at least get you out of town for a few days without the cost of flying. And some of the nicer hotels have great rates for midweek days since tourism is down in most places.

  20. MS, "yonder" can be "right over there" or in the next galaxy!

  21. Kilroy if you like relaxing and nature at all you should go here!

  22. How about Vermont??? It is really pretty and usually cool. Lake Champlain, nice.

  23. Kilroy. Last year at this time I was in Stowe Vermont and it was a lovely vacation. We actually stayed in Waterbury and visited Stowe, Montpelier and Burlington. There are some great restaurants up that way, nice shopping, hiking and canoeing opportunities. Or Drive up to Montreal and go international for the long weekend.
