We just got a new cat today and he's absolutely adorable! We've called him Clover and our other cat is called Jinx. We have to keep him in our bedroom tonight because we have our dog in our living room and Jinx wandering the house as always. I don't know how to get these two to get along but we can try and sort that out whenever. My real problem is that since he's in our room he's been fine in his bed and wandering about the room but i've woken up at 4am because he's started whining and i don't know how to get him to stop!!! I've tried everything I can think of: water, milk, wet food, dry food, plenty of bedding and even a little 'hiding' spot for him (he's very stalkery lol). I know he might be missing his mother and 3 sisters but i can't do anything about that unfortunately. Please, I can't get back to sleep because of his moaning!!! Help!!!

Welcome to TDK, CJ!.... give him time, and maybe give him a tee shirt or something of yours to sleep with.... maybe he will curl up on it... I'm sure he's missing his mama..... he needs to bond with you now!....best wishes and good luck!

How old is little Clover? I agree with AV about missing Mama Cat. It may take some time, and just a little patience - he will come around. Until then my only suggestions would be -
A stuffed friend that you sleep with first - he might like being able to snuggle into it.
If he is still relatively young and hasn't found his way to warmth in your bed you might try a hot water bottle wrapped in towels so he can find comfort in the warmth.
Welcome to TDK! I'm sure more tips will be forthcoming, 90% of my kittens I have were fosters so most of them had built in buddies with littermates.

Well, I would pick him up when he starts whining and put him on my pillow, stroke him till he went to sleep again and sleep snuggled up to him. And I wouldn't be surprised if he started doing that every night (because it is rather warm next to your head, lol).
Was the t-shirt unwashed? It should smell of you. And a mohair sweater that smelled of you would be even better...
