  1. Bobby's Auntie Ellen had told me she started feeding a cat about a month ago. She didn't want another cat as she's got a dog.
Today at tennis and lunch she told me sh's let the cat move into the garage. She insisted the kitty isn't moving in, because of the dog, it's too skittish, and it doesn't use a litter box. When she was on the way to drop me off, she asked if I wanted to come meet Abby. Well, of course I did!!!

Abby lookd like she's about maybe 12 weeks old and is a diluted tortie. She's so cute!! She'd been sleeping and was nice and sleepy. I held her for about 20 minutes and she purred up a storm!
At one point, Ellen was going out to walk the dog and I walked over with the kitten. The dog sniffed and wagged his tail and Abby sniffed and at one point tentatively tried to bump him on the head with a paw. Ellen was surprised it went so well.
As for the litterbox issue, I told her to try Cat Attract and that hopefully that'll work. She says there's no way she's letting the kitten in the house if she's not using the litter box, so hopefully that'll help.

When she dropped me off at home, she and her daughter came in to say hi to Bobby. They left with a kitty condo, a catnip mouse, a scratch pad and a round chase-the-mouse toy that they just told me now was a big hit.
I have a feeling my new niece will be moving in shortly........ :)

  4. Thanks! She was so sweet, I wanted to take her home myself!
Ellens old cat, Sammy, passed away about 6 months ago. She loved that cat, but she's sworn ever since that she doesn't want another one.

It seems her husband is quite attached to Abby already, so I think it'll all work out with her.

  5. Ange, I tried putting her in the litterbox and she lay down to take a nap!

  6. Laid down to take a nap..ha ha!! Guess you will have to show her how to use..maybe take Bobby over and have him do a demo for her. Glad to hear that Auntie Ellen is interested in helping this kitten. Here is hoping she gets inside soon.

  7. Hahahah! How funny! I love it! What a sweet story indeed. I'm sure it'll be no time at all and Abby will be running that whole household. =)

  8. I hope so, too!
If for some reason it doesn't work out, I really am tempted to take her, myself. I walked around with her for 20 minutes and she just stretched out and enjoyed herself. She gets scared of noises and cars going by, but she'd definitely not afraid of people. Ellen told me it took them 3 days before the could touch her, but she's sure friendly now.

Her daughter, Allie, took a picture of me with the kitty - I'll try and get it from her. If not, I'm seing her tomorrow. We're having a garage sale. I got someone to cover til 9:30 at work, so I'm going to be over there from 6:30 to 9:00 - I'll try to bring my camera and get a picture.

  9. Abby is already picking her spot IN the house! She sounds precious. Con-cats on being an Auntie! I would imagine that she could learn how to use a litterbox for Auntie Ellen. Maybe Bob and Mi could teach her! And NO SLEEPING in the litter box little girl!

  13. Have they tried this GD?

Take dirt form outside and put it in a litterbox!

As sshe becomes acustomed to it add a little bit of litter, then a little more then half and half then 3/4's litter to dirt then on to full litter tranistion her over a month to a month and a half. We have done this in the past when we had barn kittens that were brought indoors!

  15. Hahahah! I'm trying to imagine the looks on Bobby and Mi's faces if you were to come home with a little girl! =)

  16. Bobby would be fine. Mi probably would be, too, eventually. There's no way to get another cat unless I move first, though. I don't have enough room for the three of us at this point.

  17. Heheheh it worked for us! Since most outside cats use soft earth to do their business! Or they could always get her a small grass bed hahaahha to do her business.

GD well sounds liek the baby has a good home even if a perosn of the home is fighting the fact hahahah!

  18. Ellen liked the idea of putting dirt in the litterbox.
I went over there this morning for the garage sale and hung out with my niece for a bit. I got some pictures!!! I'll post them later.
