  1. C.C. and Pepper stand by not sure if this is a false alarm or if they are going to be welcoming another one of their own to the Bridge.

Mamma Kitty weakly rests on her haunches in the quiet space that has been provided for her, unable to get comfortable. Although the water and the yucky stuff that her Mommy and Daddy have forced her to eat has stayed down, she is not feeling well at all. She can barely walk, and her tummy feels horrible. She is tired. Mommy and Daddy have said their goodnights to her, and have said that they will see her tomorrow. Of course she knows they will be constantly coming over to her and looking in on her throughout the night, but she is so tired. She just wants to sleep, but she feels so awful. She can feel the other kitties close by, as if waiting for something... maybe a sign of what they are to do next...

  3. *Mamma Kitty lifts her head to stare at the light coming into the window. it's been a rough night but she has been given a new dawn and still has fight left in her. The Bridge kitties purr their encouragement*

  4. *The fight appears to be short lived. After being forced to eat some more yucky stuff mixed with water, Mamma Kitty collapses. Loud purrs seem to echo throughout the room as C.C. and the others from the bridge continue to stand vigil, waiting for their sister to join them*

  9. More soft purrs whispering over to Mamma Kitty as she fights the biggest fight of her furry life. *gentle tears* =(

  10. She is sleeping now. She doesn't appear to be in any pain. I still pray for a miracle. Anthony spent a long time just petting her and comforting her. I don't want to lose my Mamma Kitty, somehow I keep hoping there is still a chance... but I fear the worst. I can almost hear the purrs from the Rainbow Bridge. I don't know if they are those of encouragement, or those of expectation.

  11. Mamma Kitty, you are so loved. I hope for a miracle as you fight this battle. But if it is not to be, then I pray for a peaceful passing and then a loving embrace by all of those who wait for you.

  12. Hoping for a miracle too. Shaddo rallied several times before letting go. He and Jiggs stand vigil with the group and purr their prayers...

  13. Praying for that miracle with you, also. If it's not meant to be, I pray it is a peaceful passing. My heart aches with you and Anthony. (hugs to all)

  15. I am so sorry to read this OW. How old is Mamma Kitty?

Posted 2 years ago by eleniki #

  16. Mamma Kitty is only about 10 years old. Too young to be this sick.

I took a nap, and when I woke up Mamma Kitty seemed much more alert. I managed to get another feeding syringe full of egg mixed with water into her. She put up a bit of a fight, but was way to weak to really argue with me much. I then put her back in her new napping spot and she collapsed again, but this time I had laid her down close to where she was laying when I picked her up. She managed to drag herself closer to where she was most comfortable.

If she is still fighting, I will continue to fight for her. Anthony is holding onto hope that she will pull through this so he refuses to even think of helping her to the Bridge. She doesn't seem to want to leave either.

As I said last night, she is in God's hands - His will be done.

  17. {{{OW, Mamma Kitty, and Anthony}}} I am praying for a miracle for Mamma Kitty, sending healing white light for her. If it is not meant to be, then I pray for a peaceful, easy passage over the bridge to all those waiting to welcome her on the other side.

  18. I just managed to get a little bit of raw egg mixed with water and the juice from a can of cat food into her. But she isn't getting stronger at all, she is getting weaker. I want to help her to the Bridge, but Anthony wants to give her a fighting chance. I am afraid she is running out of fight. I just want my poor Mamma Kitty to be happy and healthy again - even if it means that she has to leave me.

Poor sweet Mamma Kitty. What could have done this to her??!!! One night she is begging for food off of my plate, the next night she is going downhill fast... and today... *cries* My poor Mamma Kitty!!!

If she were a person, I would swear she has had a stroke.

I have to go have lunch with my aunt and my friend... how can I enjoy lunch while Mamma Kitty is going through this?

  25. *C.C. slowly approaches as Mamma Kitty collapses again after being given the electrolyte formula. Her breathing is normal, but her body appears to be giving out. The two people hold back tears as they watch the cat's struggle. C.C. sits down to wait. One of the people goes back to sit in front of the computer and breaks down crying. 'Mamma Kitty...my poor precious baby...' All the purrs in the world cannot comfort her, but some of the other Bridge kitties try.*

  26. A loving touch comforts her, OW. She knows that you love her.

  29. OW, I don't know what is wrong with Mamma Kitty, and it is perfectly possible she has had a stroke, but is there no chance you could take her to the clinic? You mention an injection - has she had these symptoms before? And did an injection help her before? Forgive me, maybe other TDK members are familiar with Mamma Kitty's story, but I am sure that if money is a problem, we would all try our best to help out with a chipin - certainly I would. Can you take her to a vet? Or do you think she is beyond help now? Crying for her here..

Posted 2 years ago by eleniki #

  30. The animal emergency clinic requires a deposit up front before they will do anything. Even if we did have the money, she went downhill so fast..she seemed okay up until she made a sharp turn for the worst - literally within minutes she went from her being just a little uncomfortable to her not even being able to walk. I really did not expect her to make it through the night. By this morning she was so weak that she would not have had the strength to survive the drive out to the clinic. The stress would have killed her. Now it's just a waiting game. We have given her an electrolyte solution, but I think that the best we can hope for is to comfort her.
