The Rainbow Bridge cats stand vigil....

She is laying on her side... legs stretched out. She is still comfortable and responsive when Anthony approaches her - she loves him so much. We are giving her water when she appears to be thirsty. But she is no longer trying to swallow. I think the time is near. It feels as if there are hundreds of cats waiting just outside the house. If I listen closely, I can hear a chorus of purrs.
One person - not from TDK - snidely asked me if I could praise God now that He was taking my kitty after everything else He had done to me.
My answer? To God be the glory forever! Praise God!!
I have been crying my eyes out all afternoon, and I will miss my beautiful Mamma Kitty so much. But I praise God that she has not had to suffer. That lump we found on her side several months ago has grown, and there is another one on the other side. She has been living with what appears to be cancer, and until yesterday, she was happy and well. Just a few days ago she ran up a tree and caught a huge rat, killing it instantly! She has been a total brat up until she got sick. I would so much prefer her to leave this way - suddenly and quickly - than to have to suffer months of debilitating illness as things got worse. God knows what He is doing. His timing is always perfect. I praise God for His tender care and lovingkindness.
I may be crying now and my heart might feel as if it is being ripped in half, but there will be a beautiful reunion in Heaven one day. Praise God!!!

She is fighting so hard to stay. Anthony is with her comforting her through this last struggle. I told Anthony that that cat loves him sooo much. I told him she is lucky to have him. She is in a spot where I could not get down on the floor because of my bad knee. But he is right down there with her.
C.C. is in the living room. Hopefully (for Mamma's sake) it won't be long now.
*wipes tears from her eyes*

Mamma Kitty, so many prayers are with you tonight. We thank God for the love that you have brought to your family, for the joy that you have given them. We rejoice for the life of such a sweet kitty. And we pray for a peaceful passing to that place where you will never be sick again.
C.C. and the others will take such good care of you until you see your family again.

The vigil is over. The multitude of Rainbow Bridge kitties lead Mamma Kitty to the beautiful meadow they now call home.

So sorry to hear your beloved Mamma Kitty has passed on. Among the multitude waiting to greet her, I know my Sam was there. He will comfort her and may God comfort you and Anthony. So very sorry OW. Mamma Kitty was such a loved girl, and you are right that it was better by far that she lived her life out to the last, with no suffering from what you describe in such beautiful detail. She is running and chasing again now, and at such peace. Thinking of you and Anthony at this sad time.
