  1. The sound of purring can be heard echoing throughout the living room. C.C. steps forward as Mamma Kitty takes her last breath, then wakes up standing next to her. Three other cats - Mamma Kitty's babies who left before she did, greet her enthusiastically. Mary and Anthony cry and hug each other as they hold Mamma Kitty's lifeless form. Next to them, a beautiful grey and black tabby looks up, wishing she could tell them she's ok.

"They'll be fine after a while." C.C. reassures her. "Remember when I left? It took a while, and Mary still cries, but she is ok."

Mamma Kitty rubs up against Anthony one last time, then follows C.C., her babies, and the multitude of others who have been standing vigil waiting for her to join them. A ray of light becomes a staircase leading to the Heavens.

"They will join us in time." Rusty and Pepper tell her. "It will seem like forever to them, but I have been told that we will barely realize that any time has passed."

A beautiful green meadow awaits, and soon Mamma Kitty begins to relax as she roams around a bit. The pain of the last two days is now but a fading memory.

  9. I want to thank everybody for the prayers, hugs, comforting words, and kind thoughts. Thank you all for being there with me, and for the Rainbow Bridge kitties who stood vigil over Mamma Kitty, waiting for her to join them.

I saw a beautiful vision a few minutes ago. I was in the kitchen with the light off, and I was gazing out the window, crying for Mamma Kitty when I noticed that part of the sky had become a little lighter than the rest. I gazed up into that part of the sky, and I could see a brightly lit green meadow. I could sense the presence of a lot of animals up there. It was amazing! And I could hear the words, 'You'll see her again.'

I miss my Mamma brat so much, but I am beyond grateful that she had her health up until yesterday. Praise God!

  12. Mary I'm so sorry. Normally I'm sound asleep by now but something told me to get up and check TDK. Mamma Kitty gave you both so much joy in life and now comes the pain in her passing. Whispering farewell to Mamma Kitty as she prances proudly to her waiting children and friends in the meadow. (((Mary))) (((Anthony)))

  21. I got up extra early this morning after being out late last night to see Mamma Kitty's status, although I already knew. Leela purred in my ear around midnight last night; she never does that.
Shaddo, who has been hanging out with C.C. and family in support, is happy to see his friend, and introduces her to Jiggs. They agree that humans get quite sad when they leave to come to this beautiful place, but humans have friends who support each other.
{{{OW}}} I'm so very very sorry.

  22. My sweet Redford welcomed Mama Kitty at the Bridge, as he does all the kitties who pass over. He purrs and gives her kitty kisses, and he and all the Bridge kitties begin to purr-the sound becomes a beautiful hum of peace. I know the heart hurts, Mary, but you will see all your precious ones again someday. Hugs to you and Anthony.

  26. OW, I am so very sorry. I am in tears and my heart is breaking. I have been following and hoping. She left this world gracefully. Prayers, hugs and lots of purrs. All of mine that have made the trip to the bridge are waiting for Mama Kitty. Peace and comfort to you.

  28. OW and Anthony, I had prayed for a different ending to this story, but somehow knew that it was not to be. I am so glad that you were with Mamma Kitty and that loving arms cradled her as she made her journey to the Bridge and to the beautiful meadow.

It is never easy to let go of someone that you love so much. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  30. So sorry about the loss of Mamma Kitty. I know she was greeted by all the cats I have shared my life with thru the years; Gabi, Harley, Tessie, Charlie, Spot, Pudgie, Socks, Noodle, Dynamite, Annie, The "Three Spunkies", Pepsi and countless kitties that were dropped off in our yard who didn't make it to adulthood. They all danced and played and headbonked and purred with Mamma, they are so glad to have one so wise as her to join them! Please accept my sympathies and prayers! Hugs!
