{{{Diamond}}} may your crossing the bridge have been quick and that you are now enjoying the love of those whom crossed before you.

I couldn't find the link to Diamond's story, but it doesn't matter. (((Diamond)))
May she find happiness and endless Temptations across the Bridge.

Oh, poor kitty :( The monsters were actually housesitting/catsitting for the family, which reminded me of when Mike and I went to Egypt and came home to find that our apartment sitter had left our place a disaster zone. I swear my first thought was "Is George OK?" (he was).
I hope those so-called people rot somewhere.

*Mamma Kitty makes her way through the soft grass to greet the newcomer. "Hi sweetie, I was told you would be coming."
"Who are you and where am I?" The nervous kitten asks.
"My family called me Mamma Kitty because I was such a good mother. I am in charge of many of the new kittens. You are at a place that many call the Rainbow Bridge."
Diamond leans up against Mamma Kitty as she begins to wash the top of her head, making sure to get the itchy parts behind her ears. "How did I get here?"
"You don't remember anything?"
"No. One minute I was home with some strange people, and the next thing I knew woke up and found myself here. A wolf told me to come find you. He was really nice and didn't even try to hurt me."
Mamma Kitty purrs a sigh of relief. "It is better that you do not remember anything. You will really like it here. There are lots of other kittens to play with, and you do not have to worry about dogs, mean people or anything else."
"How long will I be here?" the kitten laughs as she is tackled by another playful kitten.
The two babies continue wrestling as Mamma Kitty answers. "You will be here until the person who loves you comes to get you and take you across the Bridge to another beautiful place."*

We've had a lot of cases of animal abuse this year and this one was by far the very worst. Even the newscaster got emotional (voices cracking). They warned us ahead of time the details would be hard to hear and once I heard about it I refused to watch/listen/read anymore as I was heartbroken and outraged. I prayed that Diamond had a very fast passing to the bridge and I am so glad Mamma Kitty is there to take care of her. She did have humans that loved her, sadly they made a bad judgement call in who they had care for her while they were away.

OW that was beautiful, thank you. I couldn't find the story but it doesn't matter, every one of these abuse stories makes me so angry and hate filled I can't stand to read them. OW's story made me cry too, but instead of with rage, it's in honor of Diamond and comfort that she is at the Bridge and no longer in pain and terror.

I have not read the sad story of Diamond and think I'd rather not. Peace surrounds this sweet baby now and I pray that the horrible monsters who took her life will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. God in Heaven..how can people be so cold and cruel? SOB!!!!!!! =(
-
I won't read the story. I can't. And the details are irrelevant. Cruelty is cruelty on any level and I hope that this poor baby's passing was swift and whoever is responsible will pay dearly. I have seen first hand what people are capable of doing to innocent animals and it just kills my faith in humanity (once you look into the eyes of a kitten who has been set on fire by two teenagers, something dies inside you). Little Diamond, I'm so sorry this happened to you but you are safe now and Mr. Toes and P.C. and Dandy and Jorj and Lillie and all the other bridge kitties will take very good care of you until you and your person can be together again.

The Wolf smiles, and his golden eyes are wide with tenderness.
He spies a tiny, wriggling kitten-rump in the bed of catmint. Speck and Binx tiptoe through the fragrant greenery, and Angel's head rises slowly. Parfait spots Diamond, and her whiskers sweep forward. Their eyes glow, and the tiny tails flick with excitement.
Missy makes the first rush.
Ambush! Collision! And kitty giggles fill the air as the small cats collide, hooting with joy.
"You just got here!" said Speck, "and you've already found the catmint beds!"
Diamond nods happily. "My mama, my mama showed them to me!"
There is the whoosh of tiny feet across the meadow, and the small soft sounds of laughter float back over the shoulders of the little ones as they tear across the lawn.
"They don't really remember any of the hurtful things before they came here, do they?" asks one of the mama cats, leaning against the Wolf.
"No, not really," says the Wolf, looking down fondly at the mama cat. "They carry most clearly whatever joyful moments they had, and the people who were loving to them. Those thoughts and images stay with them forever, for how else can they know who comes for them?" The mama cat smiles at the Wolf, for in her heart are the faces of those on Earth who cherished her.
"When the past, or the passing, is full of horror or torment, they remember only a dark shadow that drifts away when they come to the Meadow. Here they are safe, and loved beyond all measure, and they wait for those who loved them. Everything else fades away."
The Wolf's voice is soft and musing, and the mama cat rubs her head against his rough shoulder.
"But, know this," continues the Wolf, and his gentle voice turns into a low and terrible growl in his massive chest, and his eyes become narrow slits of gold.
"I remember. And those who sent them here in cruelty, in anger, unrepentant, filled with evil, those I remember well. And they are mine, dear one. They are mine."
"And those I take by another road...to a different gate."
