OK, yummy pudding - check. Cake - (last night) check. Cadbury's - check (I just had a small bag of buttons)...doing well so far!
Had a lovely lunch out with our usual gang of friends, plus a couple who we haven't seen for a few years, but who made the effort to travel up for my birthday weekend. Went to another local pub situated on the canal where the birthday girl gets her main course for free!!!
Then a quick visit to Mum, and home for a much needed flop on the sofa - I am SO tired!!! Apart from that, 40 ain't too bad so far :o)

Now, here's some *really* exciting birthday news : remember that cats' hospice Mum and took Bones' things & leftover food to? Well, I decided I have enough stuff & toiletry sets in my life, so asked people to give donations instead of presents...I decorated a cardboard box with party-appropriate cheezburgers (quite recent ones - like the cat flaked out on top of the china cabinet) and put it in the venue alongside all my cards. Well - drumroll - have just counted up, and we raised £205!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fantastic!!! :o)

Happy Purrday, MCW!!! It sounds like your birthday weekend has continued in style! I had a great time at the party last night - great music, lots of dancing, loads of fun people, and a gorgeous birthday girl! I'm sorry I couldn't make the lunch.

Happy Birthday MCW!! Sounds like you had a blast last night! Welcome to the Forties. It isn't half as bad as everyone says it is and I just turned 46 last week. Only thing is that the small print starts to look too small (started for me last year).
