  1. I thought I was a good kitty mom but I don't know. As I said before I took Wilbur to the Vet school on Tuesday with a problem. I thought it was something with his mouth. He had ulcerated lesions in his mouth and on his tongue. He was not eat or drinking much and salavating quite a bit. The diagnosed the lesions. I think I caused them by playing with his "cat teaser" I think he cut his tongue on the string. Bad mama. Anyway he has been on meds (morphine) since Tuesday. They said it was very painful for him. The gave me 4 measured doses, one every six hours. He seemed to be doing well. Today I noticed he has not been drinking and won't eat. He has been holding his mouth oddly. I was talking to Abbey on the phone and she asked if I had been feeding him wet food. No! How dense can I get. I opened a can of his kidney diet and he began to eat it! Normally he hates wet food. Then I checked the prescription pain meds. The gave me a bottle besides the dispensed doses. It says give in 0.25 mils until he feels better. I thought I was only supposed to give him the dispensed doses! I feel terrible. I gave him a dose and 5 minutes after he was drinking water like crazy. I am a bad kitty mom. He is so precious to me how could I do this to him. He is in PAIN! Still sitting on my lap and purring and headbonking me when I let him down. How could I let this happen. I have nursed him through stage III kidney failure and he is fine, now this "easy" problem. I feel awful! Please hold a good thought for me to not be so dense! I would never do anything to cause my wonder kitty distress, but i have. So Puddytat is going to sign off and go beat my self up for a while. He is such a sweet boy and I love his so very much.

  2. Please don't beat yourself up, Puddytat. Wilbur knows how much you love him, knows it deep down inside himself. He's not going to hold this against you, and we certainly won't. I hope Wilbur's all better soon.

  3. {{PT and Wilbur}}. NO beating up allowed! You're a great kitty mom. You recognised he had a health problem and you got him treated. And you weren't dense - just distracted with worry. Wilbur purrs and gives you head bonks - that's a sign he doesn't hold it against you.

  4. ((PT and Wilbur)) Thank goodness you figured it out and he will be okay in a bit. I know you feel awful PT but we all make mistakes from time to time. Keep us updated on Wilbur.

  5. {{{hugs}}} mistakes are easily made Puddytat, and it doesn't sounds like Wolbur thinks you're a bad Mum!
