  1. Ellen just emailed me and told me her vet wanted $322 to spay Abby. I'm taking that as a sign she's planning on keeping her! YAY!!!!

I called a different clinic and got the price down to $201. Tomorrw whan my vet is open, I'm going to call them and ask what they'd charge.

Anyway - this is very good news!!!! :)

  2. Yay! This is definitely progress. That sweet kitty will be in her forever home before we know it.

  3. Yep!
I figure calling around for better pricing is the least I can do, if it means Abby getting a furever home.

  5. Yayyyyy! So happy to hear Abby truly has her furever home! That's nice of you to check around for more reasonable spaying. Whew! Those prices are incredible! =O

  6. It does sound really high to me, too. I found a spay/neuter mobile thing that's $40, but you're on a waiting list for months. Little Abby can't wait a few months!
And I'm only too glad to check prices - I don't want Abby to miss out on a home because a spay for her is ridiculously expensive.

  7. Such wonderful news GD. It sure sounds like a furever home for Abby. As I have said, Ellen and her family have already been *chosen*.

  8. I texted with Ellen today. She's been letting Abby try and come in the house. THis morning she drank from the dog's water bowl. Later when she fed her dog, Abby tried eating the dog food. ROcky (the dog) did a little growl, but didn't do anything and Abby wasn't afraid.
She's been using the litter box, too, now that it has dirt in it!!!! Yay! :)

My vet quoted $250 for the spay surgery. I'll try a few more places.

That sure did seem a little high on the spay surgery, good for you being a good Auntie and all calling around to get her a better price! Starts an Abby conga line....A B B Y! YAY! (JOIN THE LINE!)

  11. GD cost me about 260 for Mysties. But then I did the added before surgery blood work ! Girls cost way more then boys that's fr sure!~ And way to go abby for stealling into that home and the heats of the humans hehhe. Glad the dirt worked Gd!

  12. *Hops into conga line*

Even when her Sammy was getting old, Ellen told me she wasn't ever getting another cat. I've been ganging up on her with her daughter ever since and trying to convince her to get one anyway.

I'll call a few more places, but I want to make sure Abby goes to a reputable vet and gets good care - she IS my niece, after all! :)

  13. Thanks, Ange! That was a great idea! Ellen can save the money she would have spent on litter and put it toward the spay surgery! :)

  14. Best part soil is probably easier to come by heheh and in larger quantites then litter hahahha! And you are welcome. Old trade secret heheh!
