Hi,
So my tiny guys are adoptable now and only in 3 days from the TCR (Toronto Cat Rescue) posting the ad, I got a call yesterday asking for my sweety Shammy, they will come pick him up today, I am so excited for him but at the same time I can't help but feel terribly sad, every time I think about him (like right now) tears fall off my eyes. Last night I was sobbing in the room with them (it was only the 5 of us, Bunny, 3 babies and me). I know I gave them an oportunity to live good in a home where they will be taken care of and loved.
He will be going to a couple that has a 10 year old daughter and no other pets. The last kitty they had was 2 years ago and was also a tuxedo kitty, the lady said she loves tuxedo kitties like my Shammy.
I will have to go through this with 3 more tiny guys :(
This is too hard......... but worthed

Yes I am going to do that, also maybe keep in touch with them and get pictures of him when he grows to an adult kitty, I can only imagine him how beatiful he would be then.
This is my first time doing fostering and if it wasn't for poor Bunny being on the streets alone I wouldn't have any kittens and wouldn't have a broken heart :(
It's all Bunny's fault :).......Thank you Bunny!!! :D

Oh, Sheflly - I can just imagine your pain right now. You have give Shammy the chance to have a wonderful life with a loving family. But I'm sure that in the process you fell in love with him. How could you not? Without you, Shammy would probably never have had a chance. I know that his new family must be so grateful to you for bringing Shammy into their lives.
Tears are fine and we all understand. But don't forget to be proud, too! You've done a wonderful thing for Shammy.

Oh Sheflly....I admire your strength soooo much! It's such a wonderful thing you're doing for Shammy and I'm sure he'll be very, very happy with this little 10 yr. old girl. You could also tell them that if for any reason the kitty doesn't work out and they decide they can't keep him...that you'd understand completely and happily take him right back and find another home that works for him. *passing sheflly a tissue*

Karen has great advice. At least you know he will have a loving home, more than a lot of kittens get these days. Bless you!

Awww thank you so much all for your words :)
Well since I am doing this through TCR, they gave me a 'contract' they have to sign before my tiny guys get adopted, there are a few conditions, one of them is that they will contact TCR if the cat is going to change home. Also I had to call the lady about the fee she has to pay and she opted for the cheapest one cause she won't use TCR vet to have Shammy neutered, she will choose her own (one of the conditions) vet because guess what!? he will have Pet Insurance!!!
I am sure he will be well taken care of and will be very happy :)
I just hope my little velcro girls are as lucky as him.Today I pick up my Bunny from the Spa, I just called and they said everything went well and she is now resting.
Thank you again for your words :D

I feel your pain more so then I can express!
My Foo Foo and Bella went back to the rescue last Saturday and I still cant help but cry when I think about them. Part of me wants to go down there and get my babies back !! This was my first foster experience so I don't think I was prepared for giving them back.
Sending you a virtual hug because if your feeling like I am you need it !

Hi, thanks Spanky, yes I think we feel the same.
2B I am ok, but still sad.
I called the new family this morning, Shammy cries sometimes(to be expected), but they are on holidays this week so it will be better for him as he won't be alone a lot and the dad works from home, he seems very sweet (the dad), he asked me about Bunny (mom cat) he was worried about her cause she would miss Shammy too, but she is taking care of her belly right now and resting lots.
His new name is Tux.

Sheflly, I am glad that you were able to talk to the Tux's new mom and dad! That has to ease your pain a little. You and Bunny are great moms, so you know that Tux had the best start in life and because you both did a great job Tux will bring lots of love to his new family.
Bless you and all foster parents, this is not an easy job.

I'm proud of your courage in sticking your heart out on behalf of kitties in need, knowing that there is pain in doing so. So many of them don't make it and if they do make it, they leave for their adoptive homes. I hope you find that giving Tux a great start in life will open your home and heart to another kitten in need. :)

Yes this is very tough to do, see them grow a bit and then let them go without seeing them fully grow up and take care of them to make sure they are ok for the rest of their lifes..... but someone has to do it.
I've never done this before but it was such an amazing experience. If it was up to me I would have kept them all.
Thank you all for your conforting words.....
Yesterday I got a call for Zibby :( (but is not for sure yet) -
Sheflly...I know too well what your going thru. I still miss my Thumper & Spider (my avater). They got new names from their Furrever family too (Bullwinkle & Rocky). Just knowing they are being given the full range of Love & all needs to stay healthy & happy are what makes it worth while.
You did a great thing for Shammy/Tux. I personally loved the name Shammy,but,I'm sure he'll grow fiond of his new name. Congrats on a successful fostering! -
{{Shefly}} Thanks for what you are doing. I know I could not do that. I would definitely keep them all and then I would be really known as the crazy cat lady. {{Shammy}}

I am in awe of what people like you and Spanky do Shelflly, I hope the pain of seeing them go is tempered with the knowledge you've given them the best possible start in life {{{hugs}}}
