Paisley needs your prayers...

(11 posts)
  1. Hi all,

one of the cats I am watching for a friend for the last several days has refused to eat. I finally got him to eat some yesterday and he seemed fine. This morning he was ok, he was meowing at me and I petted him. About 45 minutes ago Sue (My wife) went into the bathroom where he likes to sleep in the tub and asked me if he looked ok, I checked him and thought he was gone, but Sue noticed he was breathing. I ran to friends work and he is coming now to take him to the vet, please pray and ask the Rainbow bridge kitties to watch over him.

  3. OMG Eric. I am so sorry. Poor little Paisley. If it's any consolation, it seems like he didn't suffer. My thoughts are with you, your wife and your friend. ((Eric))

  4. Thank you CM. The fact that he didn't appear to suffer is about the only thing that is keeping me sane at the moment. He wasn't my cat and I wasn't super attached to him on a personal level, but he was a very good cat. I will miss him. :(

  7. I'm so sorry. Like others have said, at least it sounds like it was fairly quick and he didn't suffer. Goodbye, Paisley. You were loved and will be dearly missed.

  10. Sorry Eric! RIP Paisley and sounds like he was in his comfy spot (the tub). He did not suffer and was loved and cared for by you!

  11. Thank you all so much. His owners came and took him away, and they are going to have a cremation tomorrow. They took their other cat as well, not sure if they blame Sue and I or what, but they were very upset. I can understand being upset, I would be as well, but Sue and I have decided that we're not going to sit for other peoples animals long term anymore, it is enough being responsible for my own kitties and dog. To watch someone else's pet makes it that much more important. It can also lead to problems between friends if something happens, like today.I loved Paisely like my own, he was another one of the family even if he wasn't going to be here forever, he had been here 2 1/2 months...Anyway, thanks very much to all of you. You all helped to make my day a little more bearable.
