  1. Don't give up hope yet...It's way too early to stop your search. Kitties sometimes run from something that startled them and it may take a bit to find his way home, but even kittens who are indoors are often able to find their way home.

  2. Oh My...KP how did I miss your thread? I'm so sorry to hear about Midnight being m.i.a. but truly believe in my heart that he'll return to you. I didn't read all the previous posts here so if my advice is repetitive, forgive me. If you have any sleeping blanket that Midnight shared with Mama Cat and Chester you might try placing it on your front porch. And also the stinky, almighty power of tuna placed outside the door has been known in the past to bring home the most stubborn and frightened of little ones. Sending you prayers that little Midnight bravely returns. (((Midnight))) (((KP)))

Oh and I'm very glad that Mama and Chester are home and doing well. Good Job!! =)

  3. KP...is there anyone in your neighborhood who has a humane trap? Or will your nearest animal shelter loan you a trap to try & catch Midnight in it? Like 2bp said...don't give up hope. Hopper took 6 yrs. to trap & Hoover was caught after 5 wks. of adventures. With a kitten, they aren't as smart as the adults & they will wasily go into a trap. I'll continue to Pray for the little tyke.

  4. There are many outside cats in my apartment complex, thus tuna to lure the kitten would be eaten up in no time by many other mouths and traps would catch the wrong cat, but thanks for these suggestions. I've been handing out more fliers about him and I'm going to put some up more of them around the neighborhood. I've also been looking at my local animal shelter's web site for recently caught animals. Thank you everybody for pulling for me; I feel the love you are all sending me. And if it happens that I will only see the kitten again on The Rainbow Bridge, I will tell him what a good kitty he is and that I love him. If I had known this was going to happen, I would never have tried to hand him over to the volunteer who came to pick up Midnight to have him neutered. I hope he finds a good home, wherever he ends up.

  6. I don't think Midnight would have gone far, KP. Are there any dense areas of shrubs or trees near your complex - he's probably hiding, and is terrified. You need to search and call, on an intensive scale, with a few understanding helpers. How old is Midnight? Dehydration and hunger would be a concern.

  7. I just came from outside my apartmentt complex where someone wrote expletives all over my lost kitten posters, saying @#% your cats! I live in a terrible neighborhood, but there's nothing I can do about it. I have Secdtion 8 assisted housing and can take this subsidy anywhere, but with no money to move and too much stuff to contemplate moving, I'm stuck here. And even if there are a lot of gangs here, at least most of the people who live in my complex are nice, and my cats live in a protected courtyard.
We are experiencing a heat wave here and if my kitten has not already found a home, then he's waiting on the Rainbow Bridge. Poor sweet baby, the sweetest kitten I've ever had who liked to perch on my shoulder and give me little kitten kisses right inside my ear. My remaining kitten is not as cuddly, but he's young still and I can teach him. Thank you everyone for your support. One thing for sure, I'll never say "things can't get any worse", for clearly they can.
