  1. We did this as an activity today with our patients and it was really fun and interesting. I thought I would throw it out to my family here. You learn some really amazing things about people. Here's the question:

What is unique to you that NO ONE knows? Or maybe very few people know? Something that makes you, you. A uniqueness about you/your body, a trait you have, a talent.............

I'll start, my appendix was located up under my ribs by my heart. (normally it is located in the lower right part of your abdomen)

  2. I'm double jointed all over. I use it to freak people out because I can move parts of my body in ways that aren't really supposed to be moved.

  3. I saw my mother miscarry and hemorrhage when I was 3, I still see blood all over her whenever I look at her...scary. :(

  5. OOH, HM, I am double jointed too. Its funny how it creeps people out. Good stuff guys!

  6. My uniqueness is all the human traits, good and bad, I DON'T have. Perhaps I'm a partial person. KPMom.

  7. I once lived in my car for a couple of months. Not a highlight of my life!

  8. I have a black belt in the martial art - tae kwon do - I was a ballerina since I was 3, and talk about double jointed, I can STILL do my splits, and put my feet behind my head! (ok, maybe TMI *blushes*)

  9. i am both right and left handed...ambidextrous ???

  10. Cheri, my Hubbs is too!

  11. i am also a mental calculator. i can go into a meeting and do equations and stuff and people with calculators in that meeting go "wow !!!" how do you do that ??? it's natural talent...

  12. Cheri, I usually am left-handed (writing, eating) but there are some things that I always do with my right hand. Perhaps living in a right-handed world has fored us to adapt better?

Let's see... I have perfect pitch. I also have an inter-racial family (my brother is African-American, and I am... not). This makes for some very funny introductions. It's not nice to set people up, I know, but sometimes... they deserve it. Especially if I catch them making racist remarks. "Would you like to see some pictures of my family?" Heh heh.

Posted 2 years ago by CSBM #

  14. Oh Cheri, I can't whistle either! (This is scary - could we be related?)

Posted 2 years ago by NNGM #

  15. I can't whistle, either.

I was an excellent customer service representative and cable tv bill collector (no booing!)

I watch the same movies over and over because Hollywood can't put out any new good ones (at least in the genre's I like).

  16. Still trying to think of something unique about me...

  17. Joan...your a Real Sweetheart! May not be unique to some, but, it's real.

When I was a kid,the first time I heard Tammy Wynette belt out "Stand By Your Man"...I swore I wanted to grow up to be a singer just like her. Now...I only sing to the kitty cats.

Posted 2 years ago by feral #

  18. Joan - well, not unique to this group but in overall human standing you have a beautiful compassionate soul.

  19. This is something I have been pondering about myself. What is unique about me? I feel so average most days. :( I joined Plenty of Fish, to make some new friends, thinking of possibly dating again (won't know if I am ready until I try it). You have to write your "bio" and say what kind of person you are. I have found it quite difficult.

  20. ...MerD, with your knowledge of wine, food, etc.... you DEFINITELY have unique talents!.....

  21. I am right-handed, but I shoot pool with my left hand. I am nerve-deaf in my left ear (which probably accounts for my equilibrium issues). I can cup my tongue (flex my tongue into the shape of a cup). I shook President Clinton's hand while he came to Cleveland back in 1993; I also shook Vice-President Gore's hand during that same event (such congenial men, and Vice-President Gore is much taller than he appears on TV and film). I own pet chickens (currently three: Sage, Terri, and Renee). I have a tattoo on my upper right arm. I am allergic to tree nuts, but not peanuts (a legume) or coconut (a fruit, but I'm not crazy about it). I am allergic to eggplant. I can't stomach the six o'clock news unless someone is patient enough to explain it to me in an informative, unbiased manner.

  22. Vicki - I also am right handed and shoot pool left handed and have had many friends refuse to play me because I would win, most of the time.

I am the family memory keeper - if one of the kids or Richard can't remember something they usually ask me. I am also the family dictionary - I will get a call or email at any time from one of them wanting to check the spelling of a word or the definition. I read way too much and words are filed away, can't help it.

  23. Karen - I'm also the family dictionary - and often the office dictionary and proof reader. I also retain the most useless information - usually entertainment related - so I'm handy for quizzes. Why on earth do I know the name and occupation of Victoria Principal's husband?! (Harry Glassman - plastic surgeon).

  24. I too am right handed but play pool left handed. I do some things left handed(footed) like kicking a ball, undoing bottles and jars. I collect and retain useless information. I used to have a photographic memory, may still have but it's just not dusted off. I'm a bit of a dictionary too.

  25. I used to ride dirt bikes(not street ready) and once I drove through a canal(well more of a deep ditch),I rode a unicycle all through junior high and high school,a friend of mine at the time would come over and we would ride over the canal talking to each other and riding without missing a beat, people were staring. Of course I haven't tried since I grew up,I'd probably bust my @$$ now. I was also an Advanced open water certified scuba diver,I went lots of places but loved Bonaire the best.
Most of those things I can't do anymore but I was actually looking at social groups around here and there is a nice one of women motorcycle riders, not so much biker chicks or anything. So I'd get to meet people and travel and pick bugs out of my teeth, lol. Sounds like a winner.
Thanks for the question MC,I've had low self esteem lately, didn't figure I could come up with anything.
Oh,and I retain useless info too,I used to do well at Trivial Pursuit.

Posted 2 years ago by Buttercup #

  26. Ahhhh MS I'm no longer unique! What makes me unique from you? (Apart from being better looking and younger).

Posted 2 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  27. My family won't play Trivial Pursuit with me anymore. :-(
KK, I'm older and wiser and don't mind admitting it.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  28. I can fold my tongue into the shape of a three leaf clover, it is impossible for me to fold it just once like most people do. i can however fold it in half the other way. i can whistle both ways (blowing air in and blowing air out).

i'm 5' 11" which for here is normal. i flunked kindergarten. i can't touch my toes (i can barely touch my knees lol). i take care of lots of cats and work on a dairy farm. i've never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. and that's all i can think of lol!
