Saw those storms you guys had and are having on the Weather Channel. Did anyone see the footage from that storm that hit Central Park in NYC the other night? I saw lots of spectacular lightning, localized entirely to the southeast. The rest of the sky was cloudless and there was a nice breeze. However it knocked down lots of trees in the park; sadly many of them don't have deep roots...

Hi BB! haven't caught up with you in ages. I'm doing ok - lovely Spring day here again - went out into town with my coat on and barely needed it. I got depressed though when I looked at the Spring/Summer fashions in the stores and didn't see anything I liked - I am so sick of my winter clothes.

I can totally relate to the "hating the shops" thing!.... seems like all the fashions today are either "20-something" or for " my mother's (80) crowd"!.... nothing for ME!.............you're so lucky - SPRING!.. and here, we're just about to go into Fall/Winter (yuck)......

Yes, KK, finally caught you, been a long time! Enjoy the springtime! We'll be griping at you as we go into winter in the US shortly!! As you grow your veggies and fruits and talk about lazing in the sun, we will be loving hearing your stories and cursing you for being so lucky as we freeze out collectives a**es off!!

*groans*.... not "leggins" again!... (flashes back to the '80's)......say it isn't so!....
..... Sadly, as soon as I get back from the Mountains, I have to go to work as an executive, and I HAVE NO CLOTHES TO WEAR!...... for the past 20+ years, I've worked from home, and worn my Daughters' hand me down jean shorts and tee shirts!!!..... HELP!!!!.... I tried to go shopping before I left for NC, but like you, I was so discouraged!... I couldn't find ANYTHING that even remotely resembled ME!........* begins to panic *.....

I am still in the tye dye t-shirts and jeans! Can't wear shorts at work and the 90+ temps we are having for the last 2 weeks does not make me a happy camper! Come home, hit the cargo's and t-shirts minus the under apparell!! Let the girls loose! Not looking forward to winter at all!

AV, I am so sorry you can't find clothing. Thankfully, in my line of work, I don't need to dress up, but can understand how there is nothing out there for ladies who need to wear dress clothes, so to speak, to work. You either dress like a 20 year old, or an older lady. I see where there are no clothing for the in between. Best of luck to you and just dress for your personality. I wish you luck.

...thanks MerD!... even suggestions would be appreciated at this point!.... I can't wear dresses - I have "linebacker" shoulders on a skinny body.... Suits are out, because I can't wear the same size top and bottom.... skirts aren't really good, I have NO hips, so they hang sadly, so I'm left with BLACK PANTS and ???what???........
