I like one or two of Philip K. Dick's SF books, in fact the very two that were made into major films: 'Do androids dream of electric sheep?' (the wonderful, cult-status Blade Runner); and 'We can remember it for you wholesale' (Total Recall - the book is much better than the Arnie movie). But generally I'm not too much of a sci fi reader. I love novels from way back to present time. Although when I was 15, Tolkien was my own private fantasy world, like so many other teens in the 70s. Rather like the inferior 'Twilight' series now - the partner's teen is obSESSed - cannot be shaken or taken out of her enclosed vampire world.
