Happy New Week to All! I am absolutely exhausted. I went to bed at 930 and got up at 5, you would think I would not be so tired. I think its this nasty bladder infection. I hadn't felt good for a while, now I know why. Anyways, beautiful day here, kitties propping themselves on the windown ledges to get some fresh morning air and sunbeams. Please come in, we have catering from Cracker Barrel Restaurant due to the Monday "blahs". Please help yourself. The coffee bar is set up as well. Enjoy your Monday the best you can! Hi, MC, I will help myself to a chocolate croissant, thank you for this lovely spread. I have been working and I NEED chocolate! There is none in the house so virtual will have to do :( oh well, at least no calories...

Good morning MC and JCat! I got a massage yesterday for my sore back. Felt wonderful, but dang... the sore back has returned this morning. Maybe it's my mattress....
I'll have biscuits and sausage gravy (extra sausage in the gravy, please), coffee with Irish creme, and a tall OJ.
And a purring, POLITE kitty who won't try and snitch my breakfast (lol).

She eats her biscuits from my hand and while she's doing that I can gently rub my thumb under her chin. I still can't touch her otherwise and she tends to run away if I move. She will come out to play/eat when I am in the room and is quite eager to play mousie with the bootlaces - I have tied mousie's tail to a bootlace. She is still VERY jumpy and unapproachable, but she is starting to approach me and will come up and sniff my hand/elbow if I sit very still and ignore her.

Aww Pickle should get together with Leela. Leela needs someone to calm her down a bit. She's taken to attacking mama without provocation. Someone like Pickle would help neutralize her and help Pickle come out and play/socialize with you more. I'm glad she is starting to play with you.

Awwww, yay Pickle :) Laces are fun, aren't they? When you're feeling more sociable, maybe I'll send George through the trans-Atlantic wormhole & you and he can play; he loves laces.
And yes, I can vouch for the fact that PM's camera is HUGE. Shall I push our new digital through the wormhole to you, PM? It's so small I find it hard to believe it's real, but it takes decent pictures.

Mine's a digital SLR. It's quite modern and takes CF and XD cards, but because it has interchangeable lenses it's quite big.

Joan, that sounds like a Mavica by Sony? We have one of those too! It still works, but the switch to eject the diskettes sometimes doesn't work right.
We bought an external disk drive just to upload those pix to our laptop, which didn't come with a disk drive... and of course, I bought all the extra filters to do close-up work (lol).

Yep, that's the one Sio. It still works, even though it's been dropped a few times. I'm thinking of getting an external disk drive, but there's a computer at work that the IT guy says I can use and upload the disks onto a flash drive. Since the camera works, though, I'm leaning toward getting the external drive for home. Got a Kodak EasyShare camera for hubby; he uses it and likes it.

Afternoon everyone! I had a great weekend hanging out with a friend from Belgium. He taught me a new way to do crabl legs. I bought king crab legs and split them in half to expose the meat. Then I grated fresh ginger, minced shallotts and garlic and mixed it all with olive oil. I drizzled it on the crab and we cooked them on the grill over a low fire. OMG was it fabulous! Since I have a ton of fresh ginger, garlic and shallotts, I am going to try the mixture on fish next.

Peeks in cafe' and finds the kitties asleep in their kitty beds and snoring enough to raise the roof. Decide to go check the buffet and the kittehs have done a nice job. For the afternoon/early evening hours they have set out summer's freshest fruits and dip, a vegetable tray and dips as well as some pretzels, chips and yogurt. Looks like they even fired up the soft serve ice cream machine today, vanilla is the flavor. I scritch behind some of their ears and rub other's bellies. Slow day here at the cafe', will come back in a bit to check on the kittehs and to see if anyone else stopped by!
