  1. Lord Wellington is a 7 week old kitten whom i brought home about 5 days ago. He is a great little boy! Eats on his own, very playful, uses the litter box on his own... hes just great. I feed him soft food twice a day half a can mixed with hard food in the morning and the other half at night. There is a constant supply of hard food always out during the day and he eats that when he wants more. Since i got him when he uses the litter box to go number 2 he mews a lot.. like he might be in pain. his poops are mushy, not watery just mushy.. it makes me feel so bad i just want him to be okay.
Also this morning for the first time he didnt gobble his food up. he didnt even touch it.. i feel silly maybe hes just not hungry i dont know im just in love with this kitten and i dont want him to be sick or anything bad.
and lastly i dont notice him drinking from the water dish either. maybe he does it when im not looking but i still havent seen him do it once since ive had him.. he dosent seem dehydrated though. UGH help???

  2. Welcome to TDK XCCS! It sounds like he might need more water, but to be sure he should see a vet. Have you taken him into the vet yet?

  3. no i havent. The lady i got him from did an everything i guess was fine. hes had his dewormer. hes cried when he poops since i got him. i was mixing in milk with his soft food, then read it was bad so i stopped. i tried putting some water in with his food this morning so at least if i dont see him drinking i would know he had some water, but like i said he wouldnt eat this morning. he got up and went right to beating up my older kitty.

  4. No MILK!!! Kittens or cats can't digest cows milk!!! They sell KMR (kitten milk replacement) at pet supply stores, this is the ONLY milk you should ever give your kitten. There is a very good chance that it is the cows milk that is causing the problems. Please Stop the cows milk ASAP!!!!!

  5. I Stoped giving him milk after i read it was bad for him. He just woke up from his nap and i tried giving him some wet food like this rning and he ate a bunch of it.. so i feel better there. im still concerned about the amount of water he's taking in but wet food is made up of a lot of water so he is getting some.. i guess my only concern left is the crying when he poops. i will give it some time about a week that was all the milk is out of his system for sure and if it desnt stop im going to have to take him to the vet. i have to give him his fist shots anyways.

  6. Sounds like you have things under control, just keep a close eye on him and if any more problems feel free to ask. You can also try giving him some Pedialite you can find it at the grocery stores near the baby food. It will help with any dehydration.

  7. Hi XC - sounds like he's doing better now that you stopped giving him milk. What is his personality like? He just might be saying "lookie what I'm doing all by myself!" Or maybe he was hurting before, and is still crying out of habit. At any rate, the vet will best advise you when you take him for his shots.
BTW - love the name, Lord Wellington!

He does seem to be doing better, he still cries when he poops.. not sure why.. i did see him drinking water today!! hopefully he is just vocal.
