  1. hey all!

I am comign to let you all in on what occured today to me. I was driving my 2 eldest neices and sister to Palo Alto to the Standford Hospital for an appointment. Well I never made it though they did. On our way less then 25 minutes away I was rear ended. I feel my car is done and only good from scraps. I was hit my an old GMC suburban like car an oldie one made of REAL MEtal!!!!!!! My plastic car the butt end crushed in. Bad and frame appears tweaked the claims adjuster is coming out to view it tomorrow. So I will know tomorrow whether it will live or die permenantly. Thankfullly no one was seriously injured and the other car and occupants drove awya with barely a sign of driving the front up my cars butt. My neice Ash banged up her knee but is fine, My neice jack was taken away in an ambulance due to numbness in her shoulders and neck (she was on the side back right passengar where most damage was) and thankfully other then pissed off my sister was unharmed.
Thankfully after taking her in the ambulance along with Sister and My Sister to STANFORD hospital our original destination she was looke dover poked prodded and such. And released. When they came back to my house my neices were talkign about the hotties (firemen adn EMTs).

I am almost positive my car is done. But tomorrow we will find out.

As for the cursed car comment well my car was a couple years ago backed into while it was parked so front had to be fixed, and well now the rear was totaled. I seriously think my car has an invisible sign sayign Hit me!

  2. What a nuisance, M2MC!! I'm glad no one was hurt. I hope the other driver has good insurance. Watch out for sore muscles tomorrow. Even a small whack from the rear can tweak them.

  3. oh KW I am feeling the soreness now that I have finally laid down. And I can bet tomorrow is gonna be way worse. Tomorrow I am gonna feel like a 100 year oldwoman I jsut know it. the hit we took was very hard on the freeway going on my end 60ish!

  4. At least the contents of the car are OK Ange. So sorry your car has been smooshed badly. Hope you have her insured so you can get another car.

  5. I have insurance for my car so I will get something out of it but doubt enough to get a new quaility car. I se another freaking car loan in my current future. But yes my most precuious cargo my family was unharmed and that's all i care about!

  6. Ange!...how scary!... thankfully you and all passengers were ok!..... hopefully your insurance will cover everything!..... (((hugs)))))

  9. Sweet dreams Ange, get some rest!... I'm off to bed soon too!.....

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  10. Best thing is that no serious injuries! I'm sorry about your car, I've often felt mine had a bulls eye painted on it as well.

    Posted 2 years ago by 2bpurring #

  11. Thanks 2BP yes the most precious cargo was safe and unharmed most important thing.

Waking up fed the fuzzbutts and talk about feeling like being hit and ran over then having the train put itin reverse and run me over again. I am sore to be sure and I feel like at least 107 this morning. I am just grateful that this is from the impact/my tensing up upon the impact and not more serious. I will be calling my sister shortly to check on all of tthem but waiting on the guy to come from the insurance company to evaluate it!

  12. Well let's hope he calls it a lost cause and then you can use insurance money toward a newer, bright red or yellow car!! That's what I'm always saying I need, just to make sure the other drivers can see me!

    Posted 2 years ago by 2bpurring #

  13. Ange, I used to work for personal injury attorneys and just about all we did was car accidents. I can tell you that the day after a "minor" collision is always worse. Please, listen to what your body is telling you and get checked out, just to be sure you didn't do any real damage to *you*.

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  14. No red 2PB one it costs more second I have dreamed of myself dying in a red vechile so not gonna happen. Yellow not quite my color either heehehe but color wont be an option when it comes to what can be afforded!

Kilroy I am listening to the body! Everything is moving as it should just tense in the shoulders. The EMT's did do a quick run over me and said they felt nothing. I realize that only goes to bones and if I say ouch but currently my body other the sore I am good. I also already promised Ale if I feel anything out of the ordinary I would call my doctor to set up an appointment.

  15. LOL...I don't think I could ever drive a bright car either, I prefer white or silver but I often joke about it since I seem to also drive a "target vehicle".

    Posted 2 years ago by 2bpurring #

  16. True but I also think bright cars are jsut as targetable. Mostly because they tend to draw the eye to them more!

Well not good! Car is dead! It will be getting picke dup tomorrow morning! Byebye Aidan!

  17. Ange I'm sooooo glad no one was seriously hurt! What a testament to the way our older cars were made in comparison to those we have today. Give me an old Ford Pickup anyday and I'll feel perfectly safe. I'm sure that's not your style though Ange....but have you given any thought yet as to what you may look for to replace your 'cursed' beast? =O

  18. Heheheh Karenopa, I actually am a truck person!

Posted 2 years ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  19. I never would have pegged you as a truck person Ange. LOL! So have you given any thought as to what you might start looking for yet? I guess it's a bit soon really until things are more settled with your current car...turned paper weight. =)

Posted 2 years ago by Karenopa #

  20. Do some research online to figure out the bluebook value of your car so you don't get less than it was worth just prior to the accident, Ange. :)

    I'm sorry you are so sore today. {{{gentle hugs}}}

  21. I just found this thread and holy cow, Ange! I am so glad you and your family are okay. Wow! I hope the police were able to get all the details from the other driver such as their phone number and their insurance info (policy #, contact #'s, etc) and provide it to you. Also, I have learned from ex's car accident that a lot of injury can be to soft tissue such as your muscles and can cause a lot of long term pain that can actually impact your ability to work. If this is the case, you might have to consider sueing the driver of the other car due to loss of income caused by their negligence.

Sorry about your car too. It is frustrating when your car is the one that is totalled by the other person's car when it is their fault. I hope their insurance gives you a very good deal on your car. I assume you will be looking at used cars that have decent gas mileage. Possibly another SUV type car?

  22. grrrrr! This is what happens when people aren't paying attention, esp on the freeway! Glad you and your nieces are ok!!!

Posted 2 years ago by linda #

  23. Yeah we looked on Kelley blue book and a few other sites if I am lucky I will get between 5,500 to 4,200 hundred to put to a new car of some sort. As for new or used type we know it will not be a small car and we will probably look into a ford since our family is devoted to fords and mazdas! As of right now I am just getting all the calim information and such done and the cars pick up for the scrap heap tomorrow and such. Taking it one step at a time.

As of right now other then sore we ae all doing very good and I actually feel less sore this afternoon then I did this morning so that's a plus.

Posted 2 years ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  24. Glad you are not as sore, Ange!

Posted 2 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  25. Good to hear that the sore is easing off Ange. If it wasn't so hot where you are a hot bath with plenty of bubbles would help ease the kinks out.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  26. hehehe MS if I had a large enough bath I just might heheh but nope too small.

Yeah I am hopign tomorrow less sore then today and such!

Posted 2 years ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  27. I would still advise a trip to the doctor's just to be careful. What you can't see or feeling better doesn't mean there isn't an injury. What an ordeal to go through!

Posted 2 years ago by SylMiaFelixMomma #

  28. I feel your pain, Ange. I still haven't resolved all the claim information from my accident in June. I hope you get enough to buy a good vehicle.

    Posted 2 years ago by Cats4Cats #

  29. I will look into it SSM but right now I am carless! And if I do it would strictly be in for a check over by my doctor through Kaiser!

Posted 2 years ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  30. Sigh! This morning between 9:20 and 9:30 am my Car (Aidan) was picked up and taken away. i left before he drove away. i didn't want to watch my car leave me and knowing it wasn't jsut going to the repair shop I got teary eyed. my parents bought me that car as a gift and to help me going with my career. Seeing it being hooked up to go was bad enough. Now I am waiting for everything else to go on as well to get this process moving. I must admit it has gone by very very very quickly my team has been so on the ball. I love Farmers insurance. They have always been dependable to our family when ever we needed it!

Well off to get Mystie set back up in the cleaned up and wiped and vaccummed out playpen. She is so ready to be out of the soft crate and I am so ready for it to be out of my room so I can walk around the foot of my room easier. sigh! Hopefully by her Sept 10th appoitnment they will tell me she is 100% healed and sealed hehe so I can start working on getting her back out of the playpen at night sleeping with me and Max!
