Hello from Costa Rica

(11 posts)
  1. I joined this forum because I have a new kitten and love cats. It's been a very difficult year because I lost my two beloved cats who I brought to Costa Rica with me. Cloud passed on July 24, 2008, from Chronic Renal Failure, at the age of only 12. That was devastating, as he was my favorite cat ever. But it did not come as a surprise, as he had lived for 29 months with CRF and I knew he would die of it at some point. What was shocking is that Salem passed away only last August 3, or liver and kidney cancer. The aggressiveness of it was unbelievable. On Thursday he was diagnosed with cancer, and by Monday I had to put him to sleep because he could not even walk and was beginning to suffer neurological impairment.

Anyway, I wanted to say hello. If you want, you can check out my memorial pages for my friends Cloud and Salem:

    Hasta luego,

  3. Buenas dias, buenas noches--we welcome you to our wonderful family. I, too, have lost 2 beautiful kitties, Kirby to renal failure as your Cloud, and just recently, my Molly. I still have Molly's brother, Max, and have added sweet little Cali (a calico, of course) to our household.

You will enjoy our camraderie, fun, helpful hints, all sorts of things!
We'd love to see some pictures of your new kitty - what is his/her name?

  4. Sorry to hear of your loss of Kirby and Molly. I know the pain of it. Fortunately, i've received a lot of support from the AOMS yahoo group.

The new kitty's name is Kensho, and he's about 2 months old. Jasmine is 15 months old. You can see pics of her and Angel Salem here:

  5. Welcome, Mojo.

No cat can ever replace the hole left in your heart when you lose a beloved furry friend. But, your heart can expand and make room for others.

We lost Nike and Reebok a year apart and then Blue Suede several years later, all from CRF. Every extra day you have with a terminal kitty is a blessing. And it's a blessing to be able to give them the final gift, freedom from pain, when the end comes.

  6. Welcome, Mojo.

Almost all of us have lost a beloved pet to disease, accident or just the toll of time, so there's a lot of sympathy here.

Keep us postsed on your new kitty's progress and, P.S. we love pictures.

  10. Hi, Mojo! And Welcome to TDK. I am so sorry for your losses and understand so well. We lost a beloved kitty two years ago to throat cancer. But I am so glad that you have new babies in your family.

  11. Hello Mojo! So happy to see that you've found our TDK site! I too am sorry for your loss of Cloud and Salem. They were such beautiful kitties and as with all the furry loved ones lost, we never forget them so they are never really gone completely. Jasmine and Kensho are also quite lovely and I know they both bring you great joy. =D
