Garbo and Pickle haven't met yet. They will be introduced on Tuesday evening after Pickle gets back from the vet. That's when I'm going to let her into the bigger room.
Garbo sometimes sits on the top stair looking at the bedroom door behind which Pickle is incarcerated. Pickle on the other hand is getting desperate to get out of her room. I often hear her scratching at the door and she sits sniffing the gap at the bottom of the door.
I have starting introducing Bachs rescue remedy into her food. She is getting braver, she walked over me today to get to the other side of the room and she will come very close. She even put her front paws onto my arm to see what I was drinking, but as soon as I moved the tiniest amount she was off under the bed again. She always eats her biscuits from my hand and VERY occasionally I am allowed a brief touch as she eats.

MerD, what a great story to share! My Dad has reached age 76 as of this past March, I find that each day I get to spend with him is very precious to me. I even asked to spend more time with him since I get to see him about once every couple of months. I let him know that I wanted to spend more time with him but I think he is happy with how life is and doesn't want to make any changes. I am okay with that.
PM, sounds like you are making progress with Pickle. Come on Pickle, you are in for a treat when you finally let your guard down. Rub downs and scritchies are something to look forward to according to Sylvester and Mia.
MC, good luck with getting your NS to write a letter to the stupid insurance company. I hope he is able to help get the 3rd day in the hospital covered by the insurance company. The one major reform the Obama Administration needs to work on is on how to get the choke hold from these insurance companies off of health care. They charge thousands of dollars a year for their insurance only to either cancel you when you need it or make it so you end up having to declare bankruptcy because of the huge bill they make the individual pay.
It again didn't cool off last night. It was 87 degrees around 8pm and I went and dangled my feet in the complex pool. It was nice and quiet for some strange reason no one was using the pool. I don't own a bathing suit (wouldn't want to be seen even in one of the skirted numbers) so I couldn't go swimming. Might go and buy some swim shorts and a top of some sort sometime so I can go swimming. I use to love it.
Temperatures are suppose to be around 78 degrees today but I think they will be more like in the high 80's. Yesterday it was 93 degrees here. Ick!! Suppose to starting cooling back down tomorrow to high 60's to low 70's. Hope that is true.

Yes my mom turned 76 today. I am the youngest and the "oops" baby. Everyone is having a party for her in Indiana WITHOUT me. But that is another story altogether. My dad would have been 80 had he lived! Good Luck PM, sounds like Pickle is like my girls, very tough to catch! At least they are loving me already, it only took a few hours this year. Usually they don't come near me most of the day after we have gone to the vet!

You are not an "oops" baby; that honor is reserved for many firstborns (which I happen to be, but I'm not the reason my mother married my DNA father -- she married him at age 17 and had me when she was 19). You may have been the "Surprise! Here I am!" baby, but you are here for a reason.

Molly, hope you Mum's having a nice birthday :o) Also hope you neurosurgeon will back you up, he ought to because I've never heard anything so bloody ridiculous in my life...
Kilroy, hi! My Mum turned 75 this year, and I was the same type of baby you were - in fact my parents had practically given up!

I have had a mixed day today, planned to do loads, and haven't done too badly, but spent most of the middle portion of the day zonked on the sofa, just could not wake up. Ah well, body must have needed it. I've spent a chunk of this evening sorting out clothes and being RUTHLESS - one bag for charity shop (our local air ambulance is doing an appeal right now) and one box of stuff I reckon I can sell on Ebay. I've never sold before, only bought, but am going to give it a go when I get back from the States.

MCW sounds like a productive day to me. I need to have one of those ruthless days where everything just GOES to charity! No questions asked, no second guessing, just DONATE

I could have done a lot more, crossed more jobs off my list if I hadn't slept for about 4 hours straight Molly!!!
Am doing another job now, I'm putting all the contact info I'll need into a cute address book with a kitten on the front!

Hi all!!! Spent the day at the Natural History Museum and then I just ran to the store. We are grilling Chicken for dinner. It's been a busy but fun day.
MCW, good for you for being ruthless. That is something I need to do but well, you know how that goes!Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

There, addresses all done. One of tomorrow's jobs is to type out a basic itinerary for Mum (she wants to follow where I'll be each day), a copy for me (yes, most of it is imprinted in my brain, but you never know) and a detailed one with all contact info for Chris. Then all I have to do is work out how to fit 276 tonnes of Cadbury's into a 20kg suitcase (plus knickers, oh yes!) and I'm ready!

It is, I head down to Heathrow Tuesday, and fly Wednesday morning. It seems to have come round so quickly!!!
Did you have a nice birthday?

That'll work well for me Vicki, US sizes are lower than UK ones, so I'll feel good about it!!

Well, we made it home!... 12 hours, two cats, stopped by UCF to see Daughter, and all baggage in tow!...... I'M EXHAUSTED!!!!!....... Cuddles was a trooper, she didn't complain, but didn't want to ride in her carrier - she just sat on the seat behind us the whole trip!... Abby (the seasoned traveler) just passed out in her carrier ( I didn't even need to zip is shut ) and slept the entire trip!....
We're home, had a glorious time..... back to LIFE Monday (ick!)......
reading back threads... MerD, that is a beautiful story!.... MCW, I know you and everyone you get to meet, just can't wait!!!!! (I'm so jealous!).....

Hi AV, glad you've had a good time :o)
I'm heading for bed now, perhaps if I get a good, long night's sleep I'll get more done tomorrow!

Yup, that's right Vicki. I'm a UK size 16, so I'd be a 12 in the States. Size 0 is actually a 4 here, which doesn't sound as bad (but obviously still is!).
