  1. i was outside and my neighbors 1 year old and 6 year old were outside and i realized they were something real tiny and fury in the 1 year olds hand so i went over to check it out and she had a newborn kitten in her hand and u know how 1 year olds are not very careful so i took the newborn kitten and gave it back to the kittens mom which was under the porch (she was not very happy at that moment) went to the porch to tell the mother about it and i got yelled at! saying that her 1 year old would have never hurt that kitten and that she always holds it which made me concerned bout both the baby and the kitten because that momma cat could have hurt her really badly if she thought her kitten was being hurt and she could have dropped or fell on the kitten

  2. You ABSOLUTELY did the right thing. This woman sounds pretty ignorant on cat etiquette (and sorely lacking in common sense). Sometimes it's hard to speak up, particularly if the reaction is hostile, but you totally did the right thing.

  3. yeah and im thinking bout reporting her those kittens are maybe 4 days old (could be wrong) and they are covered and dirt and fleas if it wasnt considered stealing i would have taken the momma cat and all 4 kittens

  4. u should report her, momma cats can be very aggressive about their babies and the child and kitten could have been hurt. u did a good thing, and if she couldnt see that than she's dumb.

  14. ok her husband came over to see what all was going on and he asked me if i would keep them until i can find a new home i asked my mom she said yes and so i have them for now lol she is very timid doesnt want anyone near her babies which is understandable ok now i have a question should i give them a bath? or like wipe them down with baby wipes? i understand she grooms them but they are so dirty i dont think she can get them clean enough and shes very skinny scooby is doing real well hes just curious bout those babies!

  15. I'm pretty certain I've read it's not a good idea to actually bathe them that young, so I'd stick to giving them a good wipe down. Good result ILCF, well done you!

  16. yeah now that i have them i'll be able to sleep good tonight and ok i'll TRY that that lol shes detremid to stay with them which is really good!

  17. You have fleas to deal with ASAP. While bathing is not a good idea, get some FOOD grade Diatomaceous Earth and dust mom, her babies, and Scooby as well as treating any carpets.

  18. ok i will do that as soon as my mom gets home in about a hour or actually i can call and have her pick it up on her way home.. but as far as feeding the mom is verrrryyy skinny and i've heard if u feed them too much too quikly it could make them sick and advice on that? im sorry lol i just want the best for them and im unprepared but i wasnt bout to say no to him

  20. Just a note. If possible, keep them away from Scooby. Having been outside so long they may have something infectious that doesn't show up immediately.
